These guys were not around when i left the hobby some years ago....

can someone give me the low down on them......

the good the bad the ugly......

if you wanting the surrounding facts... for a MGT 1/8th

Do a search for them. You will find a lot here at the forum. I had one once and won't buy one again. The quality seems very sporadic in general. The ones that run good, run great and the owners love them. The rest though... don't.

I wouldn't gamble with my $100 again on one.

That's kinda what I'm doing. I talked to a local shop owner and he said he loves em. And I talked to a good buddy of mine who races 1/8th scale on road. And he said " I wouldn't use one in a backyard basher". I was just trying to get an opinion from other people.

You will probably get very hot/cold reviews.

If you want to go for a sure thing, reliable, tunes ok, decent power for the $, look at a dynamite mach 26 from the LST2 or muggy. Great little engines and good power.

Wait... just realized your running the MGT... may need something with a bit more low end torque than the 26 can put out. LRP30S2? lol Probably twice what you were looking to spend, but a heck of a stump pulling engine. Many run the picco 28 and really like it. A bit more power than the LRP28, but can be a bit more finicky on the tune.

Or, you can give the newer dynamite "big red" a shot. Haven't witnessed it personally, but have seen a few youtube vids of it and it's not a bad budget BB.

I'll look into the LPR30s2..... I have a M26 in my Serpent (for non-racing events). i do like the engines.

and i'll look into the "big red" as well, the price seems pretty price effective on that engine as well.

Buy a Picco .28 and you'll have an engine that will last 10+ gallons with proper care. Not to mention top notch performance.
LRP and the Big Red, any other SH engine are good, but the Picco is only a few bucks more and well worth it.

I have one and I love it but it also has a mach 427 motor on it so that might have something to do with me loving it. It came with the motor on it I picked it up second hand.
