Nope. The engine mount is made for that specific engine. You do not have enough room to fit the Axial without spending more $. Either you will need to move the transmission ahead 3/4 of an inch (or more) and get a header/pipe, engine mount that will work for a BB engine, or you will need to get a conversion chassis that is built longer that comes with a pipe/header and engine mount for a BB engine.
So, either you spend $250 (including your axial engine) to fit the engine into your rig and run it, or you buy the picco 26maxx for $200 and drop it in. Granted, the 26maxx I'm sure would benifit from a pipe upgrade, but it is made to be a drop in that requires no modifications or other parts to use.
Or you keep trying to find the $130 engine that isn't the 3.3 but has 3.3 type performance. Which really doesn't exist anymore. OS18TM was the closest you could get to a 3.3 performance and it was only near $150 near the end of it's life when OS stopped selling them. When it started life, it was just under $200 as well.
Your only real drop in choices are going to run you near the $200 mark. Unless you get the 3.3.
The only other option is to find an OS18TZ with a slide carb and pull-start, then hope the header off the 18TM can fit the engine. But your still over $200.
