This is a great little crawler. Was watching cape crawler and his problems with the ax24. I really liked what he did.
I decided to go with the angry sparrow chassis from furitek.

i know this may be off-topic, but would you be willing to sell all your spare take-off parts from this build? I've been wanting a AX24 and building one could be cheaper and help me get familiar with the rig.
also that new chassis looks awesome!

This is the video I watched.

Normally I would say yes. A family member has dibs. That is if I decide to part with it.

For now I'm using the stock servos and axles.
Following cape crawlers fix I added the deadbolt lower links on the bottom. I used the bottom links from the ax24 on the top. The front remains a stock setup.
Compared to my sons deadbolt it now has a wheelbase about an inch longer than his.
You can use the stock esc/ reciever in just for a reciever, but it's huge.so i ended up using an Sr515 i had laying around

I had to loosen the rear upper chassis bolts and pry it in. Looks like it will work fine. The furitek esc needed some servo tape.

I decided to go with an internal spring dampend shock because the stock tires were catching the springs.

I'm waiting on a set of wheels from meus. Any suggestions for axles?

I picked up these servos on amazon. The stock ones were too weak with all of the brass.the servos were only 19.99. So far they are doing great.

Also picked up the brass steering linkage. I'm really becoming a fan of Rampcrab.

Now I gotta watch Grumpy Old Men 😜
It was that movie that made me want to go ice fishing. 🤣 plus I want to work on becoming a grumpy old man.😠🤪

When I got home I started looking at axles. Hopefully the last of the higher priced items.🤔. I found these. These are RZXYRC aluminum axles. $89 for both.

I think I'm satisfied for now.this thing is a beast! Hoping to find a good indoor comp course. I'm planning to build my own soon. Maybe I'll do a course build thread.

So what happens if you catch a fish bigger than your hole? 🤔
Since the ice was 20" thick, I assume eventually you smile, consider the tales you should tell and cut the line as you begin to speak the tale of the beast you let live, only to return in the summer to bargain with the lake to give up its treasure. Or...

Perhaps you just cuss and spit in the hole. 😁
