Okay - I have had enough.
This is a letter to everyone, including me. Recently we have had alot of bickering, bitching, and general mean behavior around here. This is due to many factors, some legitimate, and some that are just silly. So I want to make a few points.
  • This is a help forum. People come here to learn, and ask questions - not get belittled. I know myself, and others have gotten into pissing matches with others due to difference of opinions. We need to keep this in the Free For All forum, and not in the threads.
  • Do not post a comment to a question unless you are giving valuable information that is correct and acurate. This is not a chat room.
  • Stop posting things like "thats cool" and "nice" and other one word comments. Again - unless it is a productive post - dont type it.
  • Learn proper grammar. I can't tell you how much i hate it when i have to read a post four times to understand it, because people dont understand the meaning of a comma or period.
  • And finally, just because you own it, doesn't make it the best. I have been at fault with this too, I know. Please - make a good comment about a certain model, but dont get offended if someone else has a different point of view.
I am not a moderator, not RCNT Staff, or any thing else here. I am no better than you. I just am getting tired of all the crap in this site lately. Yes, I have been part of it. But we need to straighten our act up for all the new members. Thanks.

- Anthony

congrats - flyin - but from what i can recall, you are one of the folks that has pretty much been a perfect addition to the site - i dont remember u ever doing anything i mentioned above. congrats.

Just bustin your balls NA. I do agree with you, there has been alot of bitching and moaning going on. It happens from time to time. Rarely does anything constructive come from petty arguements. As for grammer, I'm from Memphis, so I have an excuse....

I can relate to your points, to a point. What iritates me is when someone new comes on and doesn't even bother reading through, or even attempting to find information on a question that they may have. Sometimes it's like flogging a dead horse asking the same question over and over. How many posts are there about turning the friggin bolt around on a savage, or ditching the stock dogbones? It aint spam, but it almost tastes like it sometimes. I did a lot of reading before I started posting. I wish others would do that also.

Another thing that I quasi agree with is the one liners, yeah, most of the time it's kind of rediculous, but at leaste it's some kind of feedback from folks. If that's the only kind of post certain people post, then it's spam, ignore it and scroll on.

Grammer and spelling, I totally agree with ya. There's a thing called a word processor and it can be a great tool if you're huk'd on foniks. Type it in word, get the friggin software to correct it, cut and post if ya don't have a decent grasp of the english language.

As for the my shite is better than your shite thing, that's testosterone. Can't do much about biology. Pissing matches, sometimes it's cool to see someone get owned when it's waranted.

Blah, blah, that's my take on things.

If there are repeat offenders that really bother you, there is a little feature called the "ignore list" Type in their name and you will never have to read their posts.

As someone who has been here a long time, I just don't have the post count to show it. This type of behavior comes and goes. I can point out several times it has happened in the past. Let's not all forget tha the most recent 1000 post club members went on spam campaigns, reviving dead threads, posting like mad to get the final 50 or 250 posts needed for that avatar.

Yeah. Avatars are over-rated. I only post when 1) I have a question I know nobody has asked 2) I have something constructive to add, or 3) I want to show something off.

Forums tend to have ups and downs. We are now pulling out of a small dip in the road called online R/C chat.

I think WoddiE needs to fix it, I tried to ignore myself and it didnt work.

i agree.. problem is for as helpful as i try to post somethign in the 1/8 section.. i have some arrogent person starting flames.. i noted on the 1st post i made some will be mad that i even suggest it, I've seen the flam start in other threads liek it and i give up.. I'm done on this board.. i dont need the bs of it to continue on with it.. thsi is also my last post...

I have more to add.
When people are online, some come off as jerks but they don't really mean it, and some people are overly sensitive to online attacks. If ANYONE has a problem with another user, there is a feature called "report this post to a moderator". If you feel you are being wronged by someone, PM a mod so they can look into it. Just don't sit around and take it. You can only turn the other cheek twice.

CRSMP5 - I dont see any reason for you to go. doesn't make sense. If someone states an opinion you dont agree with, then, in return, express why. This HELPS everyone get and educated and informed decision.

While I encourage free speach, calling someone and idiot or a moron because they speak from their own personal experience is kind of foolish. The old addage, 'Dont knock it til you've tried it' comes to mind. Just dont forget, they same applies both ways.

Some people take criticism well, others do not. I run a company of over 1,500 people and I tell you, thick skin is hard to come by these days. The C.O.O. and myself go head to head at least twice a week and this is called 'Finding the common ground' in our book. We still hang out, party, have our families over and live happily ever after. If we both just shrugged off what the other one thought and just ran with it, our company would suffer.

Fight for what you believe in, not only be the bearrer of criticism, but learn to take it as well. Debates are never easy, but I havent seen people just walk away from one either. It takes balls to get there in the first place!

We will see you next week CRSMP5 have a good weekend. I looked back at the thread and I just can't see how I flammed you, it was more of a battle between wbynum, please really go back and read the thread I did no bashing just stating what I know and what my opinion is. You are really mad in my opinion because I say the buggy is good but I dont see it as a racer, and I think thats why your so upset. Who the F am I? I'm no pro so why do you get so upset like my opinoin has a lot of weight because it doesn't. Where's my 5 bucks?

-error401- What iritates me is when someone new comes on and doesn't even bother reading through, or even attempting to find information on a question that they may have. -

That is the worst when the newbies do that like the question "T-maxx or Savage" People need to quit rehashing the same subject.

This thread cracked me up.

I go away for a few weeks, and all hell breaks loose. Then someone comes along and does my job for me. NA...back in your box. You've stolen my thunder.

The only thing I will say is that the number of "core" members grows daily, and it is good to see that I am no longer the only one who is outspoken in policing this site and the idiots who decide to show up and waste our time.

Nicely written NA.

Good post, NA.

There's an unwritten code of board courtesy that forum members need to learn. The younger and not-so-savvy (or plain ignorant) members are pretty obvious and it's our obligation to point out to them these annoying infractions. I guess sometimes in a less-than-caring way.

I haven't been here a real long time but I like hearing what you guys have to say and I think I abide by the unwritten code pretty well.

This rally of camaraderie makes me all warm and fuzzy and I think I need a group hug.

Man, just when I thought we had a good "mad thing" going on, someone comes up with the touchy feely thing and blows it for me........ :jk:

My first thought when I saw this thread was to delete it and send a message asking who in the hell do you think you are trying to mod this forum, leave that up to us and let us do our job.

When I feel a rush of testosterone from a post I have learned to step back and take a few deep breaths and in this case my intuition proved correct.

Let me tell you who in the hell you are.

Your the best damn group of people I have ever meet. Your all intensely passionate about a hobby and more importantly about our community.

This community has been built by each and everyone of its users. You help each other with not only hobby issues but with common everyday issues as well. In the past year or so I have seen members share good times and ask for help in bad times. We have seen people unselfishly give of them selfs to total strangers and have seen numerous acts of kindness.

I am proud to be able to call you guys friends.

Any one seen Flash today?
