I just got new set of tire of hellfire rtr for my lightning stadium pro. I normally put tape on the inside of tires to prevent ballooning. I noticed that the new tire set doesn't have smooth surface in inside (there are back bone pattern) which make it difficult to tape it. and if I can tape it, I'm not sure if it's goint to hold. Do these tires ballooning at speed without tape? or how you guys tape these tires?

Mot any tires will balloon if your diff set up is loose and your tires are not taped. Try adding a heavier weight in your diffs. What do you run to begin with?

I ran 3000 in all 3 diff. How to tape the hellfire rtr tire set, since the inside of the tires are not smooth? Thanks jon2!

Go up on your center dif for starters, prolly your front dif too. Too light of dif fluid is allowing too much power to the wheels and that is what is causing the ballooning.

Thanks for the tips jetmech. I also noticed that at speed all 4 wheels balloon up, so I try to tape the inside of the tire, but the rip like pattern make it imposible to tape. May be someone can come up with ideas or have done it. Thanks all.

I am not sure how it looks on those tires. YOu may need to think about trimming the flush to allow you to tape it.

Since you are running 3K on all 3 diifs, your running the diffs too loose. Jet has a great point. Balancing the 3 will allow the rear and the front to unload in an unstable pattern. Re-do your diffs. I start off with 7000 F 10000, C, 5000 R . Its a preference to my driving style. Play with the weights to find what you like.

What tires were you running before?

I'm not positive, but I think the ribs on the inside of the tires that you got are supposed to reduce ballooning.

Either way you should redo your diffs with 5,7,3 or 7,10,5.

Thanks jon and ac, I ran stock tire that comes with the car. I'll do the 7,10,5 and see what will happen. Many thanks again.

more question! what level you fill diff oil up to in the diff case? What indication or mark do you use to fill your diff? Thanks guys!

I put the tires on without any tape. It does balloon just a bit and still have good traction. I guess the rip pattern inside the tires does help. I didn't put the diff oil in as suggested since I didn't have a chance to get to LHS just yet. I'd be interested to see if the set up would reduce the ballooning further. I'll post the result once I've done it.

I finally set the diff oil 7,10,5 like recommended. I took it to the track and got to run for 1 or 2 laps and it was less balloon on tires. I also can get to full throttle quicker without losing traction. At lap 2, the center diff lock up, so I spent time tearing it apart couldn't get it to work until I took out the seal out to get the gear mesh correctly. I didn't run it again yet. I guess the diff gears start to wear out and needed to get them closer.

Thanks all for helping me out!

what do u guys think about 7,15,7 (front, center, rear)? My truggie is only for bashing, no track runs or anytihng. Would it b worth changing my diff oil to (7,10,5) or some type of lower set up ?
