:angry:motor revs but tires will not move? after first tank at idle wtf??

So i went to break in my Hpi rs4 drift. i let the firts tank idle then i fill up for second tank and the motor revs but the tires will not spin. i can't roll the car either I'm hoping the brakes are stuck becuase this is bull if somthing is broken after one tank.. so what could it be? thew big gear will not spin.

If you can't roll the car by hand, then there's something binding in the drivetrain. It's entirely possible the brakes are locked up. Figure out what's stuck before you go any further. If you try to run the car with a bound drivetrain, you'll burn out the clutch. Just check first to see if something got stuck in the gears. It has to be something simple on the RS4 because there's no transmission.

when i apply the brakes i dont see the brakes move but the rods move when i give brake and throttle. i dont know what it could be.. the big spur dosint spin, i can move the tires one at a time but if i try to move bolth side of tire i get no move ment.

i can't even run the car in the state its in.. so if there is a problem it will be easyer to fix than a car with a drive train?
when i shut it off after the firts tank i herd somthing boiling but i thought it was normal? it was runing 270 temp i thought that was normal as it was just idling.

I just broke in my revo last week with no problems.. i gess next time I'm not getting an hpi or I'm not doing there way of braek in..

It's not HPI's fault for your lack of knowledge....I understand the frustration of a new product not working correctly though. Pull the engine off and see if the car rolls freely. If it does not look at the brakes and the tranny closely. Spin the CB on the engine to see if it spins freely as well. If it does not remove the CB and inspect the clutch and bearings. Chances are the engine moved and the CB and spur are jammed together, causing a binding issue. Set the gear mesh properly per the manual. HPI gives a good manual, use it and some patience. Nitro is 80% maintainence, 20% driving...all part of the hobby. Trust me I've been there too. I burned up 10 spur gears in a row on my HPI Savage learning how to properly install one.

Being able to move the wheels individually means the diffs are ok. But the fact that you can't move them together means it's something with the main gear. Still think something might be binding the spur gear. Take the linkages off and operate the brake by hand to see if the brake piston is stuck. It may be.

i fund the porblem, the cheap plastic brake pad milted on the metal plate.. i think that is HPI's fault for using a cheap brake platic brake pad... i mean i ran it at idle first tank and the plastic brake melts.. i could of broke it free with out removing what i removed, but i thought it was supposed to be stuck or glued on one side, but know i have more knowledge about the car i like how i can remove 3 pins and have 70% of the stuff off the car ...

I am happy it was the brake and not a motor problem.. i dont evn know if it has a clutch as it has only one gear..

All nitro engines have a clutch. HPI is known for cheap brakes and clutches. It sounds like the engine was idling too high with the brakes dragging. That's why the engine ran warm and the brake melted. Idle the engine down next go or richen it up some if it needs it. Always check everything over good, RTR are not always adjusted properly or loc-tited as they should be.
