After hooning around with my Arrma Vendetta and being very impressed with the build quality, ruggedness, ease of working on it and just plain fun factor I decided to get a Typhon.
Sure, the Limitless and the rest of the "big boy" stable are awesome, but also really expensive and really not suited to my running environment (I live in Pinellas county, FLA- not a lot of places to run long and fast).
The 'detta is great for parking lot bashing but I wanted something more general purpose. I was looking at a Typhon V3 BLX, but after looking at what parts I had laying around I decided it would be best to start with a Mega. Perusing ebay I picked up a NIB Typhon Mega for a good price and yes, stock it's pitifully slow and boring.
Soooo... apart it came.

Here's the stuff I had on hand already...
Hobbywing Quicrun 10BL120 G2 ESC and a Hobbywing Quicrun 3660 3800KV motor with a 5mm shaft.
18T 32P pinion
Amazon DSServo 35kg coreless servo
TX/RX is DumboRC X6 with gyro

Here's the stuff I needed to buy...(mostly from Jenny'sRC)
Granite 3s slipper clutch assembly w/ 57T 32P spur
Granite 3s Driveshaft support bearing
Granite 3s motor mount, heatsink and fan
Typhon 3s turnbuckle kit
Senton 3s bumpers
Kimbrough 124 servo saver
OGRC Aluminum Alloy Steering set
Extra factory fan on the motor heatsink
40mm fan on the ESC
Support for rear of motor off ebay

Got rid of the diff binding, oiled up the shocks and set the alignment. On 2s this rips nicely, on 3s it's crazytown!
I hated the Hulk green Mega body, so some holographic film fixed that...

Excuse the dirt, just got in from running it.
Durability? I ran it full speed into a city garbage bin (empty) by driver stupidity and not a mark. Jumped the curb and hit it about half-way up. Knocked the bin over and threw it about 3 feet. Kept on buggin'.
Bin like this...

The original electronics did not go to waste. Put all of it into an ECX Amp MT chassis I got at Goodwill for $4. That big brushed motor comes alive in that light buggy, even with the NIMH battery. Just need to find a body that fits...

I love my 6S Typhon but understand the need for the 3S
Good point. Some people like to bag on the 3s line but different horses for different courses.
I wish I could do 6s but space, time and money are my limiting factors.
Cleaned her up and added some reflective red tape for some pizazz. In the sun she's much more "shimmery".
