I was thinking of dropping the MT gig and going with a XXX NT. That is what I wanted in the first place and I was wondering if u guys are happy with it

I liked mine, but being a basher, it sucked for where I had to drive it.

I had one place that was about 2 acre's of leveled off dirt that a warehouse was going to be built on, but they never built the warehouse, so I drove there. I'd drive there for hours and hours. It was a blast. Then the following year, the weeds overtook it and I lost my play area :(. Driving the xxx-nt at a park was ok, but it was kind of doggy because of the taller grass that constantly drug on the chassis.

IMHO, the xxx-nt needs some aftermarket parts to keep it from breaking on you though, not many, just a few.

Hammand Ghummand diff nut
RRP aluminum Monster diff gear
RPM front bumper
Losi carbide diff balls

Get those things and you will get many hours of running out of it before things need worked on. Make sure to have some axle bearings on hand as well. I ran boca green seals and they would last a long time between replacings.

I always suggest to the guys at the track that want to get into the nitro thing to go with the stadium trucks. Everybody wanted a monster truck....now everybody wants a buggy (me included). The stadium trucks are nimble, quick, fast as H$ll, easy to wrench and most importantly far far less expensive than MT's and buggies. I have two xxx-nt's and have been very pleased with them. Nothing better than kicking the rear end out in a turn, pushing it a little further...just a little harder...take it to the edge....damn spin out. But when you do it as described without the spin out it's comparable to dry undies after swimming....ahhhhhh!! Are they as durable as the MT's or Buggies?...NO, but as mentioned prior, replacing what you broke will not send ya to the poor house.

My thoughts,

Mr T

Here are my thoughts of the XXX-NT, I have bashed 2 of them and on any occasion the XXX-nt will be the ride that does keep me driving. I bash my Buggies and used to bash my MGT and Tmaxx afterwards. I like to give all my rides some play time. The XXX-NT and along with many other RTR rides have problems. I think the weakest are the turnbuckles and ball cups. I would bash all the time and bend one. Stupid me would never buy the Titanium ones. I finally did and I ended that problem but the ball cups kept popping off. I did replace the stock motor to a MT12 and believe me when I say it was HELLA WICKED FAST!! Don't get me wrong the stock one was quick but the MT12....chills.. The tires are ok but never use them on the street.I recommend the Proline street rubber. I also liked the stock Am XR2i. Great tuning with that radio. Stock servos were fine for it IMO. I t wasn't a MT that required so much torque and the throttle was quick enough for me.

If your racing a ST has a lot to offer. For bashing, you may want to stay with what you have.

The XXX-NT out of the box is a decent unit. You will have fun with it but will need to upgrade as the users above mentioned. The other ST to look at is the RC10-GT. I have had both of them and you will not go wrong if choose one.

If your looking for bashing only and want to go fast. The Traxxas Rustler is another option. I wouldnt consider it a top contender on the track but its wicked fast out of the box.

I just recently purchased a Nitro rustler. Like FastEddy mentioned, it is wicked fast:D. Very reliable and the EZ start is a breeze. Definatly a great truck if your open to opinions.

rustler isnt that great of a racer IMO... I'm gunna be pickin up the AD2 xxx-nt looks to be very nice but i might switch a few things out..

i have a xxx-nt drake and love it.
although from my perspective it does get stuck on some obsticals (tires may have a role in that) it is LOADS of fun

its bone "stock" and has been tumbled at max speed in the parking lot and didnt snap anything so its pretty durable.

i found my first place today on my street to get some air and even the tiny bit of 5 inch air was a fun as hell

i think the agility of the stadium truck sells it to me over the toughness of the mt

you can't go wrong with a ST i love my rc10gt but the losi is a really good truck also owned one for a while and liked it alot... but other than that ST's are really fun to drive

I have the titanium turnbuckles and (black) RPM rod ends, or ball cups. This is an excellent upgrade. Make sure to use a little wax and alot of care screwing the Ti into the plastic RPM end.

The XXX-NT is an awesome racing platform. Pay special attention to the diff though. I recommend the Niftech Micro-fine differential screw. It has 2 small set screws in a diff collar that holds the diff screw setting, instead of just a nylock nut.

Me and my roomate bought 2 xxx-nt rtrs about a month ago and we love them.....but tonight i replacet the flywheel on mine and he had to replace the rear end in his plus we have all graphite arms and towers and....................$$$$$$...............$$$$$$.....

I have one, it has a Picco R-C Speed 12 on it, and it flys! It is great on a track but it is more difficult to find someplace to run if you dont have a track. Believe it or not they are more limited to where you can run them, really run them and have fun. With a MT, you have many more options where to run. Mine gets used very little, My Savage SS and my Maxx get most of the run time.

I like the way that my xxxnt handles off of a jump.
It looks like it is floating, where as my tmaxx is up, and BAMMMM down.
haha

the tmaxx takes the beating that the xxxnt doesn't, but again the xxxnt is alot of fun to drive.
I am limited as well due to grass in the yard, but when I take it to the street..

I do prefer the MTs though. You really can drive them everywhere.

i love mine only prob i have ight now is i have a modded .18 in it and i keep killing tranny gears so i am thinking about taking it out
