i have a slash 4x4 and bought 11.1v 3 cell 30s 5000mah lipos and 19t pinion gear. is this a good set up for the slash vxl?

I dont remember how I had mine geared but yeah those will be a good pack to run.

do the connectors on sky batterys come with a trx plug or not?

The ones I have seen come with a banana style connector.

can you buy connectors to make it work or is that not how it works?
do you have to buy packs with the right connectors already on the pack?

It's easiest to just replace the connector on the pack to match your ESC.

You could just change the connector on the ESC to match the pack, but the TRX connector is better than the banana style connector.

Obviously you will need to have some skill with a soldering iron in either case.

and its eaisest if you by the trx connectors so u can solder the lil metal things the u slide them in to the connector but a big tip if you do plan on putting diffret connectors on you will need to cut 1 wire at a time not both, cutting both may short out the battrie

thanks for the info. The packs work great but i think i am geared wrong because after about ten mins the motor is hot runnning about 190 way to hot so should i gear it up or down?

What motor are you running? If you are running the stock VXL, I wouldn't go any higher than a 15T pinion and even then...get the ESC fan and make sure you have some good air flow.

i am running the stock 13t pinion and it is still running hot.what should i do? I dont want to burn up my motor.

on my 1/16th summit vxl i was told to stay on pavement with any battery except the single 7.2 because tire spin overrevs the motor and heats it up very badly. and that is with stock gearing
