I don’t see anyone with this truck around.

I have had this truck for a couple years running the supplied HW max8 and 4274 2200kv motor on 19/45 pinion/spur.

time for some upgrades. New body, hw max6 and 4985 1650kv, 25/45 pinion/spur, wheels/tires from my Kraton. The stock tires are kewl but are too tall for the truck and need to lower the cog.

had to do some modding of the channel lock motor mount plate. was not set up for 4mm screws the hw 4985 1650kv motor uses.

complete teardown and rebuild of all diffs and transmission. these are beefy.

went with 100/500/100k front/center/rear diff oil. gears had zero grease from factory anywhere. almost zero fluid in front/rear diffs. just a little bit of some kind of thick grease in center diff and not silicone fluid.

used 1 shim in center transmission at lower reduction gear location to alleviate a tiny bit of front to rear play - perfect. replaced the only metal shielded bearings found anywhere with sealed bearings in the center transmission. finished up with a little fast eddys red grease in appropriate areas.

How waa your temps when you was running the 19t pinion on the stock 2200kv motor? I have this same truck and i can even run a 15 tooth pinion without my motor running easily 180 or more i di t have any binding truck roles smoothly I've even tried a 2000kv motor and was still getting high temps not as bad but still not to my liking.

The temps were super high. I don’t use a temp gun just the touch and stick method - if I see my fingerprints on the hot motor after touching it it’s too hot ?

I have not gotten a chance torun the new setup yet. In the process of gathering parts and pieces for new full size car ?
