Does anyone play Virtual RC? http://www.virtualrc.com/

I've been thinking about getting the game to mess around with during the winter and thought if there were enough folks from the boards, we could set up our own race series or something. I know at one time a few folks had trouble with the demo download, but wondered if anyone had purchased a copy outright and what their thoughts are.

Anyone interested in possibly setting up our own series? May be fun during the long, cold winter (except maybe for the SoCal boys!)

I've thought about picking that up as well. Only thing that discourages me is that it seems to be strictly onroad. Not that it's a bad thing but I don't do any on-road racing. They need to make a off-road version too... do they?

I haven't tried this one but I used to have the other one that is out. This one appears much better. The other game (I think Duratrax had thier name on it) had off road. I got bored with it very, very fast.

Actually, an RCNT Winter Race series sounds kinda cool. Some of us live in areas where there is no real organized racing. And I'll admit I have the jones. I might just have to look into how much it costs to get this and see if I can work it out...

I think the CD is around $100. I think the best and cheapest route to go to play is to get the USB adapter that hooks up to a standard Rx . That way you can use your own Tx. The USB adapter is significantly cheaper than the pistol grip or stick Tx that are available for the sim. I think it's around $45 or $50 vs. $70 for the VRC stuff.

I believe they have an off-road version either out or coming out shortly. When I have some time, I'll do some digging.

So, you're saying it doesn't even get cold down there in the winter? I lived in Montgomery, AL for about 15 years and it got chilly. Not saying it ever got Ohio cold, but it was chilly.

Maine....yeah, now THERE'S a hot tourist attraction!

Besides corn-holing lobsters, what the hell else is there to do in Maine?

Eskimos? :canadafla

Closest I ever want to get to Maine is flying over it at 45K feet hoping we don't break and have to land there. Thank God for overfly permits!!! I think VB will know what I'm talkin' 'bout. On the other hand when I lived in Savannah one of the headlines in the paper one day after one of the parades was "Spectators braved near freezing temps!". I laughed my ass off cause I never wore anything heavier than a Carhart hoodie!

First off our winter doesn't start until mid January if we are lucky (usually wearing shorts for Christmas) out average temps or in the low 50's...maybe. We will get into the 30's for a day or two once or twice a year. I don't even own a real coat just a light jacket and almost always wear short sleeves under it in case it gets hot. It's always a shock when hunting season comes around , I drive a few hours north near the Arkansas border and I think it's freezing LOL

DAMN STRAIGHT! If it weren't for those we would have 99% of the flights comming into the US from Europe!

Bangor? Man, I couldn't do it, going from SoCal to ME! I have to ask, do your skeeters get overfly permits too? Some big suckers up there!

Yea bangor has the longest runway on the east coast. Something like 2 miles.

My wife and I wanted to come back home. SoCal was fun but now we're home.

I see, thought you were from SoCal. I used to work for a maintenance facilty and we had an airplane coming in one time that broke while clearing in Bangor. They asked people, wanna do a roadtrip....Where?.....Uhhhh....Bangor.....Uhhhh, NO!....They must have asked 20 of us before they suckered someone into it.

Believe it or not its not so bad up here. I don't live in bangor though I'm about 200 miles north of Bangor.
