I'm looking to get the Kyosho Kanai 3.
I don't know if it's any better then the Kanai 2.
Or if anyone has it, let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Do you have a Kanai2?? if so.. you can upgrade it pretty easy.. the K3 is a great car.. lot of great hopups to the K2..

Light chassis.. longer rear shocks.. some updates on the arms and stuff..

But if you got a K2.. you can simply buy these items and put them on your K2.. which is what i am doing..

if your buying new.. get the K3.. if your buying used.. you wont find a K3.. so.. if your buying new.. the K3 is the same price as the K2

I have a K3 and El Pirata has a 1 and a 3. There are a couple local guys that have the K2 and they say the K3 is better than a 2. I personally like the 3 (got to drive EP's 1 this weekend). So, I'd have to recommend a 3.

I also got a K3 a few weeks ago. For the price I couldn't see going with the K2. But if you don't want it quick I think you could watch E-Bay and find a good price on the K2 then go get the K3 parts.

That's kind of funny Error, I happen to like my K-1 better than my K-3 but both are way above K-Mart buggies (Error will understand that comment).

Yeah yeah. Budget buggies feel way different. I wish Sky had made it so I could see how a Mugen feels.

Alot has to be said for the radio programming, tire selection, suspension setup and comfort factor. I'm sure that if I set up your K1 I'd probably say that it would be a toss up between it and my K3, but you got it to suit your style and everyone's different.

I will say that the K's with good buggy mills fly better than budget buggies, alot more controlable. I'm pretty sure that the K3 has a 2 brake disk setup for flying, instead of the 4 disk setup that the K1 has. 4 disks just felt too abrupt on the pitch changes in midair. I'd like to drop a dual disk on the rear of mine, but keep the front as is (1 disk).

The other big difference between our rides are the engines. Sirio wasn't kidding when they said Monster Power on the head. With those mills, any buggy would be way over powered.

Funny part is, it is more common to hear that the K1 is still the best of the bunch. Especially from the local racers. Although there is a lot more liking of the K3 than there was of the K2.

Now a lot of those same guys are on a mission for the MBX.

Go figure.

well I see from reading, that the k2 has better or should i say different diffs than the k3.
the brakes I can see why they would change from 4 to 2.

dont go getting the MBX5 too quick.. cuz rumor has it.. that Kyosho is gonna release a new K car that will possibly have the pbs steering and the laydown servo as well.. for late this summer.. just rumors now.. but thats what they are saying..

I hope that Kyosho does sorta what Ofna did.. which gave both the C-hub and the PBS front end options in the kit.. or maybe just an upgrade kit to the current cars.. the K3 is too new for all the Kyosho guys to just up and drop their K3 for the new one..

I like the diffs on the k-3 better. I like having 4 brakes better than 2. Just my thoughts.

I hope they don't add the laydown servos the same way ofna did. Now don't get my wrong, I happen to like the idea of a laydown servo it's just that Ofna added a ton of hardware for the throttle servo that looks cool but does very little to lower the center of gravity, at least with the throttle servo.

I think it's a gimmic. How much lowering of the CG is gonna happen by laying the servo down, while keeping the engine right side up? And to get a linkage to the carb you gotta add a bunch of crap that just boogers up the simplicity to the current setup.

If you like the way the 4 brake system works check out the Cardock brakes. I out them on my K3 and they can be set to just about flip the car over if you want. The up side is less rotating mass and the are lighter than on K disk!

I am waiting myself just to find out the price. He had another Nitro ride for sale but he made it sound way too pricey and no knowledge of it. BEWARE!!!

ANYWAYS, I am interested in a buggy myself and trying to look at what is available at my LHS. So far ALL the current Ofna, Kyosho and GS Storm are available to me. All parts are 1-2 days away, so they say. I want to know what is really better about the K3.

Jon

right.. i like the way mugen did theirs.. just the 1 laydown servo.. ofna did it all backwards.. their steering servo faces inside the car.. can't get to the screw to get the servo horn off.. and all that extra crap on the throttle servo.. is too much.. cuz I'm sure you lose some torque and response time with all that...

I guess I will get the K3.
I better keep saving........
