My uncles boat engine is hoofed. He needs a new one before this summer, so I can go fishing LOL!!!!!! It is for a bass boat, and the one he hoofed was a Mercury 175 HP out board. Just thought I'd ask if anyone here had a link for a deal on one?

Hyped, with the National Boat show here in NYC going on as we speak, I am sure that dealers all over the country are going to various events like this. Mercruiser has a few deals going on with their Verado series of outboards (supercharged engines) as well as their other series of engines. It's a good place to start. I don't know the exact link but do a google search on Mercruiser and there should be a lot of info. Good luck!

Yeah, we are going to the boat, and rv show here in Columbus on Sunday.

Just thought I'd put the question out there, and see what anyone could come up with. I ifgure there has to be a few fishermen here other than me.

I love fishing, mostly saltwater experience with me since I was 7. Does dangling a paperclip in the aquarium from a pencil and string count as freshwater fishing? If it does, I do have freshwater time as well.

I normaly could help, but its just the wrong time of year. Boat repair business is really slow right now. You should be able to find an 04' Merc. 4 stroke pretty cheap about now. Find a certified Merc dealer in your area inquir about one, haggle haggle and haggle somemore. They will be producing 06 in July so all of the 04 are very old stock. They want to move all they can and will do it cheap!

Yeah, If so, I've done that a little bit.

Well keep your eyes open if you would, but he says he talked to a friend of his at a marina, and if they have a boat with a 175 on it, and the buyer only wants a 150, or vise versa, then he can order one of the engines at 5% under cost. So I think that is what he is going to do.
