I bought a Castle Creations sidewinder system with the 4600 kv motor. With all the options available to gain power with batteries, I'm sure it will be more than enough power with more finesse than the 5700. I can always switch motors since the programmable ESC will work with either.

keep us updated on your mamba system. I just bought a used t3 to get into electric, I have sevalra racing specced nitros. X1X cr with a vzb, Mutilator truggy modded to the hilt with a vzb, gtp touring with a delta force modded, rc10gt2 with a novarossi ect. I am very interested in the CC mamaba stuff but have no clue about electrics at all, I don't know what kv motor system will work good on the truck. The local track is of the mid size with a couple of decent length straights but some tight corners. Racing electrics is free at the track so I figured it would be a good way to get into another class to get more track time. Since CC is local, about 20mins from my house, I'd like to give them a try, but then again I have no clue what setup would work good for offroad racing on a club level. Theres usualy only enough 1/10 stadium trucks to run 1 main and they let the nitros and electrics run together for the club races so I can basicly run whatever I want because its just for fun. I would like to be competitive and have a good handling tuck as straight line top speeds in the street in front of my house mena nothing to me so I dont need overkill on the topend. Some good torque with nice responsiveness is what I'm after.

well the good thing about the sidewinder and mamba systems is that with whatever setup you choose, you can fine tune it. The higher kv rating motors are like a big block in a musce car, and the lower kv motors have more finesse and much longer run times. Any of the brushless setups that castle has to offer will probably be plenty powerful enough. If you choose the sidewinder system, you can use both the 4600 and 5700 motors with the same ESC, so you're not stuck to one choice. I'm sure some of the mamba systems are that way too. They are more powerful and efficient but a lot more money.

My brother is running a MM w/ a 6900kv motor in his RC10T4 and it will eat his stock Losi NT for lunch he is running a 7.4 volt 6000mah lipo pack and gets about 20 min. of run time on 1 charge and it is totaly programable for what ever track conditions you may have just another sugestion hope this helps...

I think that's exactly the battery that I'm going to order it. Glad to hear he likes it. I'm just trying to decide what charger to get before I get the battery. I'm gonna run the T4 with the stock engine for a lil while until I get really comfortable with it at the track, then I'll install the brushless. I want to be laying down consistent lap times with the stock motor before I move on to something bigger. If you can't control it, all the power in the world does about as much good as no power.

LOL !!! it's all about throltle control it only goes as fast as you make it and with that brushless set up you can program it and tone it down, if you don't need a power supply the charger that I use is a Intelipeak Ice and so far its been a great charger here is a link to it on tower http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHDJ1 , I think the pack brother has is from Max Amps, I sure wish I could afford two of them for my Brushless E Maxx talk about run time and punch.
