Anybody have the Radiomaster MT12?

The biggest challenge is the menu system is just not intuitive or easy. You need to be a highly technical user to use it. You can see in the videos it is never click into a menu and set the value you want to edit like other radios can. It seems to always be 6+ steps to get in and adjust what you want along with lots of searching to find it because it is always inside of another menu which is inside of another menu.
There are multiple ways to do things as well. Like to set endpoints. I can think of at least 2 different ways you can do that.

It takes a fairly logical thinking person to be able to program in some complex stuff into this radio, but if all you want to do is bind up an RC and drive it, it is a fairly easy thing to do. I can't wait for a few years to go by to see what people have come up with.

Agreed, or future product releases where they improve the interface further.
A color touch screen sure would be nice.

I saw a video that shows why the system has the high speed runaways. The receivers do not fail safe. So when they lose that connection intermittently it just goes to the last throttle position. I’m not sure if it’s an edgetx issue or a hardware problem but you can see it in the oscilloscope in the background of said video. I’ll see if I can find it. Seems like radiomaster would be on fixing this situation before Nick CNC fills the algorithm with bad videos complaining about the issue we are all seeing

@WickedFog have you ran into any of these issues?

I'm not sure they can? I'm not expert on the subject but I thought i read this wasn't an easy software patch to fix
Sounds like radiounlink and dumberrc. They don't want to fix their issues although I'm 100 percent sure that radiomaster would like and want to fix this issue and they have caring customer service. They're the leading manufacture for flight radios for drones helis and aircraft. So hopefully their name doesn't get thrown down alot like what I mentioned above.

Like I said, I'm not an expert but I have had exactly zero run aways with all my other radios combined: a few spectrums, flysky, dumbo. Reading some forum posts there seems to be some people that think it's an ESC problem. And maybe there is an issue with the ESC? I'm not qualified to say, but it seems like a receiver issue to me based on when/how it happens. One of my runaways was very embarrassing. We just finished an oval race and everyone is picking up their cars and walking across track and my buggy LM just takes off, luckily no one was in the path but I hit the wall so hard i broke the front bulkhead. This past weekend wasn't as bad, went full throttle after landing a small jump and I was able to stuff it in the pipe but the darn marshall was trying to grab it and probably thinks I'm an idiot for keeping on the throttle

Looking more into it is these failsafe issues with the ELRS version or 4in1?

They both have failsafe but my buddy that runs radiomaster products say if its the ELRS version, the failsafe is improperly setup or the user did not update it correctly. The failsafe on the ELRS version is weird to setup but he runs the 4in1 without any issues.

It's not a failsafe setup issue. The receiver reboots and sends a big PWM spike at the ESC. ESC says ok, full throttle command from the Rx.

I'll double check all my cars and make sure failsafe is setup but based on my experience and what I've read and seen from others if that was the fix we'd all be happy with it.

I've not had any issues yet. Knock on wood.

But the folks at Radiomaster are constantly working on the firmware for the radio. And it is open source, so you'll have the whole nerd community looking into it. Keep an eye on Joshua Bardwell's YT channel. If there is a problem, he will likely be on top of it and the solution when discovered.

I've got two radios and a dozen receivers. if a fix doesn't come soon i might just scrap it and move back to flysky. I know they are primarily a flight radio company but they really need to get someone that knows about surface to help them with naming conventions and just the overall gui and flow of changing settings in the radio. I love the performance of this radio but i hate feeling like a 1990's computer hacker trying to adjust my DR.

I might have missed it but have you actually contacted Radiomaster about the issue(s)?

Is there a definitive answer to the root cause? I keep seeing this theory about the ESC taking weird signals from the Rx as 100% PWM signals but others are saying it's a failsafe or arming thing. And/or brownout might also be the problem?

My last runaway I really don't think was a brownout. Running a bl120 (which I think has two capacitors already, sensored 4300kv, and a power hobby servo, 5200 120c 2s lipo in an underweight sc6.2. when I have brownout issues it's usually easy to replicate, which is why I'm not confident that is the issue, even if additional glitch busters might help.
