Here comes the attitude again, read the thread everybody is saying no and giving you alternatives.
I agree, There is no need for a wise ass atitude. We are simply stating the opinion and a possible alternative. We are not saying you are dumb for asking or that the idea is the wrong one. OPINIONS. Just like yours about the Megatech engine, remember that one?

If you have been reading the past posts, people have been telling you some different ways to shut off your engine, becuase they dont think or they know that it wont work. Please just take everyones advice and shut off your engine by a different way.

If we have solved your problem/question about the aquarium thing, then please tell us...otherwise I am sure we could think of a lot of other ways to stop your car (Muh hahaha!) LOL.

ROFLMAO! I never had anything with you but I do have a memory of your other posts so yes I was watching your posts. I think you take it too personally. Yes people help ouy here as that is what we do, you took the advice like we thought your inquiry was dumb. Refer to your post at # 16 and 18.

ok thanx

I know the brass aquarium fittings have rubber in them, but it's probably just "normal" rubber to keep things sealed. The plastic ones though, I think are just plastic, no rubber seal. You might be able to get away with using one of those. I'd buy two and tear one apart to see if there's any rubber in it. IF there is, you may run into problems with the nitro fuel eating away at it and causing a air/fuel leak and getting rubber bits in your engine. None of which is good.

If I'd try anything, it would be with the valves in this kit: http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?sku=4258367698&dept_id=-2

Cheap and you get more than one, so you can destroy one to see what makes it seal.

that looks good, but how do they work and would they work??

Don't know. I never intend on using them. I was just stating that if I "tried" it, it would be with those.

I have had fishtanks almost my whole life, so I knew what you were talking about. I figured I'd let you know about the ones with rubber vs the ones I don't think have rubber in them. I would try the non-rubber sealed ones as Nitro eats normal rubber I believe.

It may not. I have been wrong before.

btw, what r those aquarium shut off valves called? i tryed looking them up on the internet but i can't find them??

They are made to control air flow, but would also work with liquid.

In the description in the link I gave you they had:
air control valves with adjustable flow control knobs

Some of the pieces in that kit are just line splitters, one in, two out. Those parts you won't need.

They are only $2.99 for like 8 of em'. Just buy those and try it out... no one has tried them so doesn't know much about them.

what are you trying to do, exactly?

I think you may be bargaining for more than you want. If you use a valve, you have to mount it and change them when they go out.

If you're just trying to make an easy way to kill the engine, take your ignitor and put a piece of rubber on the top and pop it over the end of the exhaust pipe.

I'm not trying to "shoot down" your idea. By all means, be original. However just consider what it is that you're trying to do.

BTW: I don't think you can purchase just the shut off valves that you're talking about. If you're talking about the ones I'm thinking about, they regulate air, no liquids. You may try home depot or something.

IMO. I would make a custom air filter and hose, and put the shut off there instead. Bottom line, if you cut air or fuel, the engine will stop.

Good luck and let us know!

ok, i will do some internet surfing and stuff and will find out. thanx alot.

While the brass aquarium air valve would work as long as it is a needle and seat type w/o a rubber seal. Here is a better Idea for you. Get a remote mounted HSN valve with thumb screw and use it to kill the fuel flow.
