I just bought an MBX R2. I am a newbie and looking for some advice. What hopups are recommended for a lot of jumping. What is available? Where is the best place to buy OFNA parts?

Welcome to the site! Congrats on your new purchase! There are plenty of knowlegable Ofna owners here who are willing to steer you in the right direction, wait patiently,I am sure one will be along to help you out shortly!

I had an MBX R2 for a while, converted the chassis to a kickup, added a 9.5 wing (I felt it's stronger), custom made shock towers (jeepurzs), custom painted body, a GS 21B01 motor (and formally a Hyper 21 8P), and a few other minor things and it was a great durable car. I have now a Hyper 7 and it's also a great car.

Are parts the same for all MBX models, or do I have to look for R2 specific ones?

Why did you switch from the Hyper 21 8P? Also, where did you get the kickup chassis?

I am an OFNA junky...... I enjoy spanking those Mugens and Kyoshos with a low end ultra series buggy. Jost remember it's mostly skill. A guy named Jimmy Sharpe took our local chamionship last year with a "stock" lighting buggy. As far as OFNA goes all the Ultra series parts will interchange pretty much. I run a kicked up chassis with PBS susp, CVAs front and rear, hardened steel ring gears, stock shocks with titanium shafts (3.5mm), K2 soft springs, silicone shock oils, jeepursz towers, hyper7 quad brakes, that should give you some ideas..........Whats really fun is running your rtr radio and stock wheels and body, go to a away track and have fun. Just throw a towel over it when you get finished making hamburger out of the locals. Enjoy.....Steve
