Jeff Gordon Rules 24!!!!!!!!!

There is a hand full of us nascar fans in here..

Jeff burton & Tony Stewart

Nascar is Awesome #3 And #8 are my guys

SMaxxin, jeff gordons ***,why else would he call himself the rainbow warrior

Ok guys, don't take this the wrong way but how do you choose who your favorite driver is?

I love nascar, Rusty fan here, at least until the end of the season, I don't know who I will pull for after he retires after this year. I photographed Nascar races for several years for Speedway Illustrated magazine.

25 years of watching raceing you tend to pick up drivers or teams DEI,ROUSH,BILL DAVIS,ect.......Just like your favorite nfl or mlb teams.

Actually I was A 3 fan since I was 6. I started pulling for Jeff because he had the balls to race SR without being afraid of him ( plus nobody likes him LOL)...Not many drivers have done that. So for years I pulled for both of them. As for Jr he is not living up to the hype. Anybody can take a DEI car and go fast ( Waltrip is a good example ).

I started pulling for Earnhart SR because not many people like him when he started. That is also one of the reason I started liking 24. I'm also starting to like Jimmie Johnson for the simple reason he is Gordons team mate and Gordon is partial owner of the 48.

Hey NCNITRO the first race I ever went to was Bristol Aug. 2000 and Rusty lead every lap.

SMaxxin thats what I am talken about!
Look how many races waltrip has pushed JR to the end of a race!!!!!For the win...When MW should have won the race.
But he was back there helping jr..

it's all in the teams,DEI is only good because the team works together, mikey and jr kick ass at superspeedway and restrictor plate tracks, and they still do good at other tracks.

My first Nascar race was in Homestead in 1995, it was the innagural Busch race at the speedway. Then I was addicted, hit Daytona, Talladega, Homestead for the innaugural indy race, supertruck race, and busch race as well as the gatornational drag races all in the next year. Then I got a job shooting for the AP and speedway illustrated so I was covering about 18 races a year.

My all-time is #3 The Intimidator may he RIP and #24 Gordon. But ever since I've seen Kenseth come in , he moved in as one of my fav drivers to watch as well as Jr.

that's a good question actually. here's how it happend for me... It was just before the 2004 season started. I was never a Nascar fan before but my buddy invited me over to his place for his Daytona party. I figured if I was goin I might as well pick someone to root for. So I started watchin as much Nascar stuff on speedweeks as I could.. short interviews, practices.. etc. One of the reporters did a short 20 second interview with Jamie Mcmurray and I thought he had a good head on his shoulders. I had never heard of him before. He spoke well, seemed reasonably confident and I liked his attitude. So he was my driver for the day. He got caught up in the big wreck and finished poopy at Daytona. He won the very next Busch race at Rockingham and finished 3rd in the cup race the next day. that's pretty much the point where I considered myself a fan. I wouldn't be able to stand myself if I was a frontrunner and he's still virtually unknown to those outside the Nascar crowd. He's extremely talented and excessively underated. IMO, Chip Ganassi Racing is holding him down. we'll see after this season when his contract renewel is up.

I am still a huge 3 fan.... although the races he's in now are not televised.... So these days I pull for Jr, and DEI, and Kevin Harvick and RCR. I was one of those kids who started watching with my dad and have been hooked ever since. I have been following NASCAR since the mid 80's and hooked up with a driver named Earnhardt very early on. Back then racing was racing. There wasn't as many rules holding drivers back as there are now. Rubbin was racing and trading paint was the name of the game. Earnhardt may have not invented the use of the chrome horn but he damn sure perfected it! Racing is just not the same any more. My first race I got to see live was in Rockingham in the spring race of 98. Earnhardt finished 2 to Bobby Labonte I believe and it was quite a site. I got to see Earnhardt finish second twice in person, and it was quite a thrill to hear the crowd cheer as he took the lead. I watched him win many races on TV but never in person. I must say I was lucky enough to be at Richmond last spring to see Jr. win, and it almost brought tears to my eyes. He drove that race just like his old man.... There is nothing like being there in person to see your driver take the checkered flag...

Anywho kinda got lost there for a second. NASCAR is kinda like golfing... you either love it or hate it, but if you love it, it's a passion!

Have you watched the last few plate races? The most dominate car has been the 24 and the wins prove it. Another factor is Waltrip is passing jr more instead of pushing him. Waltrip was the only car that had a shot at Jeff in Talladega jr wasn't even close.

godale03 I was lucky enough to see SR. in person the last time he ran Bristol. He didn't win or even lead a lap but just hearing the crowd go crazy when he passed a car especially the 24 was awesome. I was also lucky enough to see Gordon win at Richmond. Nothing better than watching your driver win.

I was also lucky enough to get Sr's autograph in 1999 at Rockingham. It is now framed and matted and hanging on my wall. It is one of my most treasured possesions. I know what you mean about the crowd. It didn't matter that he won or finished dead last..... the crowd always went wild, and I always came home horse.... I will never forget his last win at Talladega, came from 18th to first in 3 laps... I remember my old man left to go out and start cutting the grass cuz he was pissed that he fell back that far (Dad and I are huge 3 fans) I remeber grabbing him off the tractor to watch him win. No one will ever drive a race car like that man. It sucks that Rusty, and Martin, and probably even Rudd are going to retire this year. NASCAR will never be the same.... heck it hasn't been the same since that day in 2001.
