I'm putting in the receiver and the antenna wires (RadioLink R7FG with dual antennas) are way too long. Do you guys trim them down or stuff them some where out of the way?

Never cut an antenna, it will brick the receiver! I managed to squeeze an R7FG in my Typhon 3s and it works, try your best to fit it in, don't be afraid to make any mods to the RC.

Definitely never cut an antenna, or in your case either or both antennas. There is always another way. Maybe post up some pictures so we can see what you are trying to do and perhaps offer suggestions?

Not familiar with the R7FG. Had to go to the RadioLink website. Wow. 2xWow. 600m (~1900ft) range. Definitely bookmarked the site. Accompanying YT vid had a T-Maxx driven out of sight and still responding to input. Driver even had a flag on what looked like a meter stick.

Looks like the real deal for speed runs. Thanks for posting up your question and taking me on search down another rabbit hole. Cheers. 'AC'

Thanks I got my answer.

My intention would be to shorten the antenna then remove the shielding (it's like coax) for ~31mm. This antenna repair. I rotated the receiver in the box and let the wires unfurl it seem OK for now. Maybe I will chop it up for fun later.

It's that or Futaba for speed runs. Figured I would start with the $70 version and have $630 left for repairs. I'm sure I will never crash though. ;)

RadioLink has some receivers (https://www.radiolink.com/r12ds) for drones that go out to 4000 meters, assuming clear blue sky and line of site. That would give me a range of 5 miles on a speed run.

Too bad I can't see even 1/2 that distance. There also 2.4GHz boosters you can use. I'm not sure how legal they are with the FCC? Only information and definitely I'm not suggesting it. That setup hasn't been tested nor certified it could interfere with Grandmas electric wheel chair and she might have an exciting ride. OK that's a bit dramatic, but you get the idea.
