ok, first I was wondering my atanae(sp?) was ripped off accidently. Anyways it's smaller then it should be.Is there a way I can make a new antanae or fix this one? Could I just get some wiring and weld or saudre it onto the rest of the one I have?

Also(I didn't post this in the t-maxx section because I"m already making this post), my friend didn't want me to post this for some reason but w/e, his t-maxx will NOT shift into 2nd gear is there a way to fix that? Also the throttle sticks open when he hits it it will close halfway then it stays halfway open and suggestions on that?

Also is there a spell check when you post?

I recently had the same thing happen so i scuffed the plating off the antenna and broke out the soldering gun and now I'm good to go. Good Luck with yours!

Did your whole antanae come off? Or just a piece?
I'm just missing the top piece.
Should I(or is there a way too) take the whole antanae off then buy some new wire? Alos can I just use wire that is at radio shack?

Thanks for the luck.

Are you talking about receiver antenna or transmitter antenna? At any rate you can solder either one of them.

Reciever antanae, I can't believe I didnt mention that....lol that would help...

So yeah just get yourself the same guage wire and strip both ends that are going to be soldered, dont knot them together keep both of them in a straight line and twist them together its a lot cleaner and fits in the tube alot easier and then just be careful and solder away good luck.

But if you go that route be extra careful around the circuit board applying heat in one spot for to long a time could have some negative effects!

the brain(reciever board) is VERY sensitive. if i was you, i would NOT solder the wire to the board. I would leave about an inch of with coming off of the board, and twist the end of that with new wire and solder it. then i would tuck the exposed spot where you soldered the wires into the reciever box.

I don't understand what your saying.....Rip the rest of the antennae until I have 1 inch left and then solder the new wire there? Then you push the soldered part into the box so you can't see it?

I'm going to try just soldering the long end first because if I mess up when it's cut down to an inch I can't redo it..If this first doesn't work I will try your way AJ. I'll let you guys know tomorrow. TY for the help.

il try to clarafy what i said: cut the antenna off at about one inch away from where it is soldered to the brain. wrap the bare wires of the new antenna and of the inch of wire left on the reciever together. then solder it so they will stay together. then tuck the soldered inch of wire in the reciever so it is not visable(so it is safe).

So basically what he just said to the T? Yes, D, Just do the last thing ya just said. Thats going to be your best bet.

You can just take it to the lhs and they'll prolly be willing to do it for you....for a small fee of course. I rip my antennas out pretty frequently, so I just take them to the lhs and have them solder the new wires for me. I suck at soldering, so I'm not gonna throw $30 down the drain.....even more if you have a synth. or DSM reciever.... :hammer:

I think I got it....Thanks for the help.
I'm sick of running my buggy(unless someone wants to race).....It can do small jumps and it's got a blown out shock and a small crack int eh gas tank. It's super close to the ground also.....I can't twait to drive the t-maxx.

I finally started the t-maxx today and it runs about 10 feet away and USUALLY stops....but it took off once and I just shut it down.

ok, I forgot to ask what wire.....is it gauge like mesag said? Where is the best place to get this?Home depot, walmart, or radio shack right? Does the kind matter as long at it has rubber on it to protect it(omg, rubber protects you form alot of stuff  ) and is the same size...Or is there a certain type?

to tell ya the truth, i dont no what kind. you can get it at walmart and radio shack, but i just find old radios that have the antenna wire in them. The antenna wire is unaversal in all things like that.

Thank you guys soooo much, I got it going today. It's running great.
But......since I"m used to my 1/8th scale buggy(haven't drove this forever(t-maxx)) I accidently hit a parked car and destroyed a shock and some other stuff....so now it's backt o driving the lightning lol.
