I was astonished when I heard the news. Girl shot in the neck, expected to survive though. WTH is wrong with kids?

We used the beat the poop out of each other when I was a kid. No one got shot, there were isolated instances when there was a stabbing and stuff but one one shot each other. The crappy thing is they normally hit every one around them but not who they are shooting at. I guess real guns don't work like in the video games right kiddos?

Wait, I thought when you get the upgraded ACOG scope & Supressor from CoD that it carries over to the guns in your house? Thats terrible to hear, why kids have to shoot each other is beyond me...

^^This; we moved a lot when I was a kid, so I was always the new kid, and I got in a lot of fights because of it. But you know what, not once did I ever even see a gun or knife. WTH is wrong with kids these days?

There are so many conflicting stories buzzing around the local area, hard to tell what actually happened so far.

But yeah we just beat each other stupid, gun and knives were never a consideration.

Age inappropriate video games and a lack of parental supervision are a cause of a lot of these events.

Its all poor parenting. If the parents watched what their kids were doing a little closer they wouldnt be playing these games in the first place. Yes I know kids will find ways, but when parents are buying these games for their kids or dont bother looking through what their kids have on their consoles then it boils down to poopy parenting. I am quite strict on my kids and it shows. My sisters kids were total hellions at my younger sisters wedding this weekend, where as mine were far better behaved. Hers get threats and thats it. Mine get warned then shortly after (with no further warnings) they get their ass busted and some time in the corner.

The sad thing is he probably got the gun he used from home. If it had been locked away in a gunsafe or been fitted with a simple inexpensive trigger lock this wouldn't have happened. So you can tack carelessness on top of poopy parenting.

I have enough firearms to outfit a small militia, but everyone of them is locked up. Kids are crafty and arn't given the credit they deserve. In a night side stand is not adequate no matter what the age of the child.

Heck yea it's poor parenting! My DAD and brother tough me how to stand up for myself without needing a weapon. I never even considered a knife or gun, even when I lost. One of the worst fights I was in as a teenager gained me a new friend and my first roommate when I left home.....Thats how it's supposed to be!!!

Obviously the kid had problems, its just to bad he didnt have anyone he fealt comfortable talking too about them before doing something drastic. Thats why its so dumb to outcast people for how they look or dress. I dont envy ANYONE in school these days, such a messed up place to be now.

Amen to that! It's sad really I remember the only thing I hated about school was. It started too damn early in the morning, Mondays, pop quizes and tests, and homework. Not the people I went to school with not enough to shoot or kill anyone. Then again my school was pretty small, we had 60 people in my Gradauating class, so everybody knew each other or at least knew who they were.

We had 20 in my graduating class :hehe:

I'm right there with you. All firearms should be locked up and out of the reach of children or any unautherized person for that matter. I have all my firearms locked in a safe seperate from the ammo, minus one which is my home protection and it is locked in its own safe where I can quickly access it should I need to, but again, it is locked up in a safe. I am the only one who knows the combo for the main safe and my wife is the only person who knows how to get to the home protection. You are so right... never undestimate a child... they are craftier than you think.

Outside the tragedy of the shooting itself, and I am in no way defending it... but in situations like this the gun will be labeled as the bad guy and cries for more restrictive gun control laws screamed for. The gun is just the tool, just like a hammer. I am of firm belief that if someone wants to harm you they will do it any way they can, with whatever they can. It is crapy parenting to blame here... not gun laws.

Ditto! ++1! I don't own a gun personally but I like the fact that I have a right to if I so choose. Rest assued if I ever do own one. I will take all the safety courses and shooting classes I can find to educate myself on the proper ownership, storage, and use of such a weapon.

What happened to the 'good ole days' when the teachers were allowed to beat the crap out of the bullies to keep everything running smoothly? :)
