What is the average range of the transmitter/receiver in an ofna buggy rtr setup?

Also, what exactly is it that sucks so bad about the rtr radio?, other than not being easily adaptable? ....is it awkward? or a lack of control options? or range?

Thanks for any info

i am not sure the exact range of the RTR radio's but i have had control of my 1 buggy and it was completely out of sight
and the lack of tuning such as precise trim controls are the major fall back of some

The range will most likely be less than 300 feet, if it's am 27mHz, it will most likely be even less. RTR radios lack all the extras like End Point Adjustment (EPA), exponential steering, dead band, sub trim, some higher end radios have anti-lock braking. Most of those RTR radio's are only 27mHz AM which only has 6 channels, which if your racin' limits how many cars/trucks/buggies you can have out there. FM 75mHz has 30 channels.

cool,,thanks guys,,answered alot of questions,,plus enlightened me a bit,
I didn't know an exponential steering option existed ,,
