Am I the only fool who doesn't like the stock TRS?

Man, is it just me or does that throttle servo sound overworked?

I took off my TRS and mounted a slider on my revo like my savage... now I just need a FS. My throttle moves faster and is definitly less labored now. I also replaced the z-bend with a captured ball end like I did on my savage.

Side note, I thought the optidrive thing was also a failsafe. Am I wrong or is mine just not setup right?

Yea the stock TRS didn't allow great throttle movement, but like I said olds I only got a chance to run it a few times and never got around to making something to work better. I like what you did with the servos, is that plasti dip or whatever it is?

How are you like the Revo? The 2.5R been runnin good for you?

Yeah, I know. It shows. There's hardly any wear on anything.

I've only ran two tanks through it since I got it. The night I received it, in the dark. Then the next day, I broke an axle carrier. The run to and back from the store ate up all my daylight. Then it rained for 3 days... I'm planning on taking it out tomorrow!

Here's full shot of the top of the chassis so you can see my plastidip:

I also noticed one of the steering servo's was really grindy sounding, so I replaced them both with a S3305 I had. So now I'm only running one servo. I made a quick plastic plate to cover the other servo hole for the time being... just to keep crap from kicking up inside the chassis.

Optidrive is not a failsafe. It will indicate when your battery voltage is low, however if you run a different rx than stock it will indicate the same thing. All the optidrive does is prevent you from shifting into reverse when the gears are still moving. Go FOC and don't worry about it! The TRS is a little heavy, what servo are you running for T/B?

Alright man, own up on how you did the plasti-dip on the servos! Do you now leave the cover off the throttle servo?

I like the throttle set-up you show, think I'll give it a shot as well!

Thanks for the info. I'm running the 2055 I think... Whatever it was when AC48 had it. I think he left all the electronics as stock. I wasn't necessarily worried, just curious. I thought I read somwhere it was also a FS. Now I know it isn't.

It's been a long time since I've had a truck with reverse. I think I'll leave it in for awhile just for the heck of it. It doesn't lurch like I expected as you take off. I thought it was going to be like the t-maxx, but the take off is quite a bit smoother and reverse seems to switch on/off more consistently.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how", I just held onto the servo lead wire and dunked them in the can slowly. Then I let them dry and did a second coat. I then cut a line around the mounting tabs and pealed the dip off the mounting tabs. I also made sure to put a screw in the servo output shaft before dunking so I didn't get it full of dip.

Or do you want to know what/where to get plasti-dip?

I'll still run the cover to keep snow/water from resting on the servo horns and leaking it's way through the top bearing.

What, no bumper mounted to the rollbar yet? You can definately tell that olds hasn't driven it yet...:)

do you dip the servo horn in the dip as well and does the mess up anything?

This might be a dumb question (I've just never seen it before) But why the wrap on the cooling head? I'm sure it cuz you run year round, but whats it do? Just curious. Looks good though man. Now go get it dirty!

It's for winter running to keep the temps up. Rubber inner tube seems to work better than just wrapping the head with foil or aluminum flashing. The innertube keeps temps around 200 or so when it's 20-30 degrees outside. It also keeps it from cooling off too fast if/when the engine dies.

Yes olds all the electronics were stock when I sent it too you. I may hafta try that plasti dip thing...I assume you can get it at pretty much any hardware store?

Wow, never thought the header would snap lol. Musta landed a bit off? lol. The suspension does allow for very nice smooth landings.

ImBroken, If you wanted th eroll bar you should have asked..it's in my box now :D.......
Olds has some of the best hardware store upgrades for RCs I've ever seen.....Dr. Frankenstein I presume

The stock header is a POS. It will last a little longer if you put a wing on it but everyone I know or run with that has a Revo broke the stock header. I heard most were having trouble finding the stock header but that was some time ago. I had picked up the Trinity pipe when I was waiting for my TM to come in and used it. When I got the TM, I used the header that came with it.

O didn't know the headers were crap lol. I was going to get the TM and a Trinity pipe, but I decided to sell it to olds and get into onroad. Olds, your money went towards a RS4 3 18SS lol.
