well I'm not to sure if I want to try actual racing yet, i may just continue to bash, but I've decided to build an all aluminum rs4 evo.

I so far have everything aluminum, (including the 3mm chassis) and excluding front and rear diffs, as well as transmission and radio tray(i have aluminum tranny mounts but not the cover), I have all this stuff in purple so I'm waiting and trying the easy off method before i install anything. Ill post pics soon

but let me know your thoughts..

I figure it may be a little stiff, but you never know stiff could be a good thing.
all so have cvd's all round.

well i stayed away from the heavier aluminum components...

like I could have done diffs, and tranny mount.. but those seemed a little heavy imo.

So far I have installed

Front a arms
C hubs
front knuckles
front plate
bulkhead front and rear
tranny side mount
feul tank mount
Ball bearing steering kit
rear a arms
rear knuckles
front shock mount
rear shock mount
3mm chassis

I have 3 Rs4 EVO's

so I'm going to finish my upgrades, pick up some tires and then I'm going to wieght them, also I think ill pick up some new shocks, and a fail safe,

Hey, Glade there is someone in here who will have an all alloy RS4 like mine.
To tell you the truth, it’s not much heavier than a serpent 710

mines not all aluminum, i dont have the upper deck or the diffs... I saw pics of your car a while ago..
well becuase I have a few evo's I removed engines and radio trays from the aluminuim one and a stock one.. and its not really to much heavier than stock,
but I'm also waiting for the new chassis and shock towers.

For racing you will see that just a little more weight than a Serpent is too much weight.
Lighter is better in the racing world.
If your playing or bashing, then it's fine.

I did a few weight comparisons between basic parts aluminum and plastic..

for the most part the aluminum weights like 1-3 grams more than the plastic,
but with the mill i have (os18 cvr) the finished wieght is lighter and more center balanced than a stock evo.

its quite wierd how back heavy stock evo's are.. but

with not batteries and no feul in either car, my aluminum car is lighter...

I dont have a scale capable of weighing the full cars.. but I have one at work , so ill get back to you
