Alpha s852 ... help

A guy at my track is selling an alpha s852 engine. there has only been a gallon through it but he replaced the piston and liner in the engine as he had broken it when he was working on it. Is it worth buying or is second hand engines a big NO NO??

If I can't run it first, I don't give used engines a second look.

if its cheap enough and he'll let you take it apart and look at it i would.

ask him to pull the motor apart and have it ready for inspection, and maybe put it back together yourself and make sure bearings and the block have no wear and play with anything.

Having spoke to some of the guys at the track they said give it a wide berth so I've gone and got a weeks b6
