pita?

I'm with you for easy and uncumbersom, I've never used one, I was supposed to get one, but the mailman stole it or something.

That thing never showed up? WTF, I hate USPS! Dude, I apologize for that. That's the second time this month I've had a problem with USPS. An order I placed for some custom dogbones got lost via USPS also about 2 weeks ago. They freakin suck. As far as how it works... well... it is a PITA. I agree with olds. The problem is that while you're trying to fuel it up you actually pressurizing the fuel lines. If the engine is runnin while you're fueling it'll start to run super rich and then just bog down and die. The only reason I'm using it is because I'm also using 4 airplane fuel tanks. I chose these tanks because they are small and fit exactly where I wanted them to. In order for me to fuel up I have to tip my truck forward and let the engines idle dead. Then fuel, then restart. A PITA but I'm running about 240cc's of fuel plus what's in the lines. I wouldn't recommend using those fuelers unless you really don't have any other choice. :2cents:

but anyways, looks like this thread got a little off course. I saw the allum tank a while back just never posted anything.. I think it looks very nice for a beginner. I've never welded allum. and I'm sure that I wouldn't be able to do that. Good job!

The envelope got to my house yesterday inside of a plastic bag. With a generic letter saying that they apologize for whatever inconvience they have caused. The corner was torn off and nothing in the envelope. Stupid USPS!

Like I said, it looks nice, but it's not very functional. Especially after you use it for awhile. The threads for the cap get gritty. I mean think about it, your mildly grinding aluminum and mixing it with your fuel.

Losing it in the mail may have saved your engine.

It was especially a PITA (pain in the azz) in the winter. You had to take off your gloves every time you needed to fill the tank. And you can't tell when the tank is empty.

Shorty has gone the best route possible for the cap. Flip top is exactly the way to go. And if he adds the fuel meter, then it will really be a functional piece of work.

Shorty,

Did you do the fuel meter thing yet? If so, post some pics. I'd like to see it.
