IMO, the XR3i is a tad bit easier to function, It comes with pretty good servo's also. Not to expensive either. Good luck!

If you are looking to get a XR3i I have one and its a great radio. I am selling mine though. PM me if you are interested. No servos just the TX and RX.

I just got a JR Xs3 and it feels good, like the expo function on steering (which I did not have before ) however miss the ABS function and do not know how I am going to brake without it ! I think I have expo on the brake which I will try, however my old Futaba actually allowed me to slow down without doing a 180 with the abs function.

I dont think its ROAR legal. I may be wrong though.
