well, with me getting my savage soon, i decided its best to start learning all the smaller more detailed things. i didn't know where to put those so I'm just posting it right here. after reading the sticky's for newbies, i saw that it says to wash the airfilter in soapy water. a little while later i was just going around and i ended up on hpi's website in the walk through section. why does hpi's say do wash the filter out with nitro and the sticky say soapy water?

i did search this and only found three threads on this, but saw nothing about nitro

Nitro will work to clean the filter. You just need to use something that will get all the dirt and oil out of the filter. You then use a couple of paper towels to squish out all the extra water or nitro fuel. Let dry completely before re-oiling with filter oil.

PJ-1 Foam Air Filter cleaner, available at most motorcyle shops. While your there pick up a jug of Bel Ray or similar foam air filter oil. For the oil you'll pay about the same price for a half liter as you would that itty bitty bottle. The PJ-1 cleaner will get your airfilter looking new.

i already have the oil, maybe ill get some when i go to pick up my nitro

Sorry to hijack, but i when i remove the foam filter, there is another one underneath, i underdstand i have to clean them both, but do i then oil them both or just the outside one?

Cheers

Dave
