OK. I need to know what you guys think is a good compressor to use for airbrushing. I have been suffering through those propellant cans and it's costing too much. Plus the pressure is inconsistent and making it hard to get smooth paint. I want something that can get enough pressure to blow Faskolor as well as Pactra. Faskolor says to spray at 40-70 lbs., but most airbrush compressors only rate around 30 PSI.
So what are all you using, and how does it work?

YIKES! 40-70 psi?!?!?!?! Only my big ole Craftsmen will put out that kind of PSI!

As far as the Pactra goes (what I shoot) I range anywhere from 15-24 PSI and thats all I need.

I am using a Paasche compressor with moisture trap and pressure regulator. Works very well. No complaints. I have only stalled it once and that because of my own ignorance.....

I will find the box, get the model number and post a couple pics. Cost me around 120 bucks.

I'm using a full size bargain brand compressor from Home Depot.
The cost was 129.99 and I can use it for other larger projects as well. Built in regulator is nice and I added a moisture trap.

Down side, its loud. I Can paint a body on one tank of air so its not running all the time.
Up side, I can use it for larger projects.

Do you guys think the 40-70 psi quoted by Parma is a bit stout for Faskolor? I have noticed the ability of my brush to blow it at low pressures sucks. I have thinned it a bit and that helps. But it still seems to take a big gust to get the paint moving. I did bite the bullet and bought a Paasche VL dual-action brush off E-bay the other day for $50 NIB. Looked like a heck of a deal with 3 tips and needles and a bunch of containers. I just hate the thought of buying tons of propellant.

And another question. If I were to buy a standard multi-purpose compressor, what would I need to buy to hook it up to my airbrush?

I'm using a PortaCable JetStream compressor. Bought it at HomeDepot as part of a Finish nailer, blowgun combo. I believe it was under $200. Works great for painting and excellent for blowin out the Maxx after bashin... I just added a new regulator & moisture trap for painting.

Hope this helps ya...

Hay man, mine is yellow:hehe:
Same as what I have. I use the Faskolor @ 30 psi with a med or large tip, no thinning. If you get the Faskolor airbrush caps it makes life easy.

You think 40-70 is powerfulmyne is 100-130 PSI:bling: :bling:
