Hello, I am new to the forum and recently bought a Associated MGT 3.0 to step up from electric and experience the thrill of nitro as well as give me something new to work on. I have only put about seven tanks of fuel through her and that was mostly for break it in, and already I am having a problem. I am still running it fairly rich because it is somewhat chilli out and I am scared to run lean, and I did a good heat cycle break in but for some reason while running the truck it will randomly rev up very high and lose power, then dies. I know it is not lean, the engine is also not too hot but the only other things I can think of are massive air bubbles in the fuel line or an air leak once the engine is warm. Oh and after this happens the fuel wont stay in the line, even when primed it drizzles back into the tank. I am hopping someone with more knowledge can help me diagnose the problem. Thank you

I am fairly new to this hobby too, but to me it seems like its ruinng too rich.

If theres bubbles in the fuel line, then there is probebly a leak somewhere..

if it drizzles back in the tank....it sounds like the tank may not be sealing at the cap.....I'm not sure if that would cause the high reving and the loss of power

I think you probably have a lid not sealing which is an( air leak.) or a hole in one of the fuel lines . I know (it's new ) that does not mean it can't have a pinhole somewhere if fuel is running back into the tank and air bubles in the line sounds like lack of suction (air leak) same effect as pinching the supply line to the carb idals high then dies. lack of fuel.

hope it helps make sure you close the lide make it snap back down . try it .if that does not work change fuel lines both of them.

just thought of this does yours have a prime ball . that was part of my problem pinhole in that (air leak)

Well, the tank lid seems to be tight and the gasket is good so it may be a pinhole in the tubing, so I will go buy some and see if that fixes it, If not I guess its a process of finding where there is a leak (pray its not on the new engine) I don't want to disassemble it. Thanks for the help guys.

I would change the fuel and pressure lines asap. Then make sure there are no obvious leaks or wet spots anywhere. Check all the engine bolts, especially the carb bolt, and exhaust sytem too.
Make sure the tank is mounted securely to the chassis and not vibrating. That can cause the fuel to foam.
