Well, you can get 17mm or 14mm I think for the LST2 sized axles.

These are to run 14mm on LST2 axles:

17mm might be a better idea unless you have a lot of 14mm wheels laying around. That's why I haven't changed up to 17 or 20. I have 6 or 7 various full sets of 14mm hex wheels/tires already. Pretty much a set for every occasion and a backup set. However, with the cracking of rims I've had, I may at least buy a set of RPM wheels to see how they hold up.

Damn, you really give them He##. I sold all my T MAXX stuff and I have 23 adapters I could put on. But I was wondering what pipe do you run or a good upgrade over the stock pipe that came with the 427. So, I have 20 mm hexes stock . Do you no where I could get some wheels smaller than my stock 420"s and keep the 20 mm.

I run the LST2 stock HT pipe and really like it. I've ran a few pipes with the LRP and many other engines. The Losi HT pipe seems to work the best out of what I have for the LRP. Plenty of power down low and the power is stretched through the RPM's much better than it was when I ran an HPI polished pipe.

No I don't. I'm sure there is someone that makes 20mm wheels besides losi, but as far as I know, losi is the only one to use 20mm. And they only have 40 series wheels.

That is the 14mm set that I have on my LST2 and they work great, just remember that little bottle of 'blue' loctite when you put them on......or else, trust me ! :hehe:

I was thinking the exact same thing. I also have the stock Losi HT Tuned pipe and absolutely love it !

How can you get anything smaller and still keep it 20mm hex ? If you want to get smaller wheels, your gonna have to get smaller hexes ! ;) :D

23mm hexes & Cen GST wheels/tires

Well, I changed my hexes to 23mm hexes so that I can(that I got too) run the Cen GST 7.5" wheels/tires on my LST2 & damn does it look good !:bling::bling: It actually handles quite well too, but for reason or other it isn't hitting 2nd gear. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks !;)

Not enough power to get up to the RPM's needed to hit second? Or, the extra torque/sheer required when it hits second (due to the higher roll out ratio with larger tires) may be making the slipper slip too much to engage solidly.

Nope, that's not it because it wouldn't hit 2nd before I put the new 23mm
7.5" Cen GST wheel/tires on it. I mean it's got power, it runs great in 1st, it just won't hit 2nd for some reason. I took the spear gears off and cleaned the slipper pads and put it al back together so I don't know what else to do or what else it could be unless it's just the slipper itself needs adjusting.

Maybe your two speed shoes are too worn to engage. Or they are getting hung up on the little bolts inside them and not expanding properly.

Well, I took it out too at the same time and tightened the screws and then loosened them 5 turns out each together at the same time(back and forth). I forgot to tell you that when I thought about it, it was already too late.;) But no, I was running it out in front of my house the other day and I turned the throttle down to -3 on the radio and then it seemed to engage just fine, although it seemed to take a minute or so after a pretty long stretch from one end of the street almost all the way to the other before it shifted.....but it shifted.:D Do you think that the slipper clutch might need to be adjusted or is it possible that I need to take the 2-speed clutch out and adjust the screws again ?

Guessing you need to take out your two speed and back them off another half turn or so. If it's engaging so late, then either your engine is getting up to high enough RPM's due to tune, or you need to loosen the two speed shoes a bit.

Yeah, that's probably it........I will do that, Thanks ! I know that it's not the RPM's because the tune is just fine, so it must be that the 2-speed shoes need to be loosened a bit. Like I said, I will try that and then get back to you and let you know. - Thanks again !:goodpost:

LST2 2nd gear

Hey olds97lss, is it possible that it could be the air filter for reason ?............ because I made it longer by adding an extra piece of hose in between two air filter adapters so that it would fit between my Integy roll hanlde. I have one aor filter adapter at the carb, then a piece of hose, then the other air filter adapter, then of course the air filter.

I don't think that would matter unless your air filter adapters are way too small for a big block.

Nope, then I don't think that's the problem either, but thatnks for the comments.......I really appreciate it !;):goodpost: I really haven't had a chance to even mess with the 2-speed adjustment again or get it out and run it, so as soon as I do I will get back to you and let you know.....Thanks !
