Hey!!

Just got to think of it..

Yesterday I run my maxx for about 30 mins. Just showed it (not showed up hehe) to a friend (potential nitro RC buyer). went home. did not perform AR because I knew I would run it again today. I cleaned the air filter offcause.

Now my question is:

Is it OK not to perform AR if you know that you are gonna run the following day ??

What's the "timelimit" where you have/should to perform the AR.

I always do it if I know that it will be more than 24 hours untill the next bashing session.

How long do you "go" between AR at the most. ??

Regards

AR is recommended, not manditory. you really only need to perform AR if your engine is going to remain dormant for more than a few weeks. It is a good habit to squirt a lil after run oil in the mill after every run for maximum engine life, but it isnt really going to cause any detremental effects by not doing it. I use AR oil about once a week, and everytime i am going to let the RC sit for a prolonged period of time.

Pheew. A big load of my mind.. hehe. well not really, but i'm quite new to nitro and just wanted to treat the engine well.

I normally (untill yesterday) do the "Traxxas procedure" described in the manual / in the DVD with the WD-40 a few times and then turning the engine for 10 secs with the EZ 2.

WD-40 is in my eyes wery cheap and as I understand it sufficient as your everyday AR.

I have some Hobbico ARO, but have never used it..

I will now after u mention it if the Maxx will be "dorment" for a prolonged time. (longest time btw. runs has been 2 weeks until now)

Thank you for the quick reply. :-D

From what I've been told, it's good to use after run at the end of each running day. That's what I do. I think it keeps my engine in top condition. If you think about it, it's really not time consuming. Takes about 3 minutes to prolong engine life.

Me 2.

I have allways (except this once) been using WD-40 after each time I've run the truck.

I agree that it only take a few minutes.

I allways have to clean the whole truck anyway so AR is just a step in the cleaning list for me.

Cheers.

Just one thing to remember. If you don't get around to the ARO in short order, make sure you at least empty the fuel tank before too long. Nitro attracts moisture. Fuel in the tank acts like a big magnet for water, and water and engines do not mix. Just food for thought.

i personally do an afterrun everytime I run my savage, I bought it used and listened very well to the origional owner, some say I go overboard with the cleaning and afterrun but my savage has 7 gallons threw it and still runs like new, I fully expect to get 3 or 4 more gallons threw it before I need to rebuild it. it all depends on how long you want to keep the engine running, I prefer to error on the side of safety.

I allways empty my tank and fuel lines. I let the truck idle untill it dies as per Trassax instructions.

:winnar:

Hahah very funny.... I must have had a bad case of spell-itis :smart:

Trassax = Traxxas... hmm pheew:banana:
