I'm new to the hobby and learning from the people who have done it longer than me, so thanks.

I've got the battery upgrade for my Kyosho Neo Inferno 3.0 Nitro Buggy and I'm not exactly sure where to start here. Like I said I'm a fresh noob and learning so any advice on where to start.

I don't really want to have someone do it for me and would rather learn but I don't want to mess anything up. I cannot find any videos online explaining the process

Here is my battery and the upgrade and my buggy.

Disconnect existing RTR pack, and remove.

Charge proper race grade hump pack (or equivalent), connect to switch, or to RX (after transmitter is powered up), install into RX box, close lid & reinstall body clip, go find Maifield. 🍻🤘🇺🇸

**EDIT: be sure to setup/verify your radio/RX’s failsafe. That “upgraded” RX pack is about the smallest available for a 1/8 buggy, and won’t last long at all.. If it dies mid-run, and you don’t have the failsafe programmed, you can wave buh-bye to that nitro motor.. A MECHANICAL failsafe (hair bands) would not be a bad idea either. Motors aren’t cheap.

I wasn't sure if that battery pack was supposed to go in something different, I guess that's what I was worried about

The physical size is not what I’m referring to. I’m referring to the capacity.. I personally run 1000mAh bigger than that, as well as higher voltage. Physically it “fits” the Kyosho RX boxes.

Okay, so that sounds like a lot, a lot that I'm still trying to learn. I wished I had a friend who was experienced in RC. Maybe I'll take my car with your post to help me out here because what you just said is exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

Man-I hate to tell ya this, but it doesn’t get much simpler than changing a receiver pack, or setting up your failsafe… I know that thing came with a manual if my instructions were “a lot”.. These vehicles are very involved, and require constant maintenance.. Nitro, especially. Like I said though-changing the receiver pack isn’t a far cry more involved than swapping out batteries from a flashlight lol.. You won’t learn anything by asking, and then not even attempting the answer ya receive from all the help available here on this forum unfortunately… We are all knowledgeable, experienced, and absolutely willing to help, or even walk ya through it. You’ve got to be willing to try though bud. If changing a battery is “a lot”, you’re in for a rude awakening when it comes to engine break-in, and tuning-let alone; the constant routine care, and maintenance.. Just gotta start by putting one foot in front of the other. Absolutely nobody ever was born into this world knowing how to do this. 😉

The learning curve for RC in general is steep in the beginning. Theres a lot to consider.
A battery upgrade and installing fail safes are pretty straight forward.
Take each job as 1. Start and finish, then move to the next job.

You WILL learn as long as you are still turning screws and asking questions.

I can assure you, if I can do this, so can you. You've got plenty of friends here to help you thru this. We were ALL beginners once, starting where you're at right now. You have a local track, right? Go talk to some ppl there too. RC'ers are usually pretty friendly and don't mind helping out 'the new guy' because they were ALSO 'the new guy' once too.

Don't look at this as something to avoid, look at it as an opportunity to learn more about your buggy AND make it better!

@Littlemotor is a real REAL smart guy... you are in good hands!
Now go get yours dirty!!! 😎👍
