Looking for advice to pass along. Have a friend that got into hobby years ago, then got out. He has 2 HPI Savage (images below) that he is interested in selling. One is almost completely aluminum, I think. Not sure about other. He is looking to get rid of them and asked me. Not sure what to tell him, since these are about 18yrs old (I think). They didn't get used much and were basically eye candy. Any suggestions?

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!!
What do you need help with?
I would try to sell local because packaging them to ship might he a lot.
You don't know if they run so call them clean etc... but not running hurts value too.
Where are you from? Are there local hobby shops, tracks?

Welcome to the site. For most money sell the hop ups separately. Digging the 21. Nice ride. Good luck with the sale.

Welcome, Man, now I really miss my old Savage. if they are complete probably can get around 400 for each on ebay. but not sure how bad shipping will be nowadays. Like others have said try selling local.

If you guys aren't using Pirate Ship for discounted shipping labels, you should be! The last time I shipped a Losi LMT, I was in a hurry, so I took it to a packing and shipping store. I had already packed up the box and it was going to California...FedEx was $80+ and UPS was $75. I took it home and printed my own label from Pirate for less than $50.

In NC. Friend won't be back around until next month. Will get more details and pics then. Will suggest breaking down and selling in chunks may be best option.

Its up to you. I would try and sell as assembly because I think you get more buyers that way plus you put in no labor.
For example, I have no use for 1/2 a savage or parts but might buy the whole truck.

You will likely get more money for individual parts but it could take a lot longer to sell and then all the boxing and shipping each of them.

I have purchsed cars that have been shipped by private sellers. It can be done but might be expensive. I did have a car shipped by pirate and it got here fine. 😎

You can advertise them here or on FB or Craigslist too.
Craigslist is nice because you remain annonymous thru the sale if you want to be. In other words, you're selling a used rc for a friend. The is NO warranty so no reason for exchanging phone #'s or a review on FB etc.

You could contact a local hobby shop to ask about consignment but I'd bet the shop would want to see them run/operate before they would sell them.
