I recently picked up frickenjoeys savage roller and during my build process picked up a wheelie bar.

I am not sure what all models the wheelie bar fits on without additional parts but I know it would not fit on this Savage X.

I would have needed to get a different bumper, bumper braces and some other additional parts. I have also read that the stock wheelie bar has alot of flex and on a hard flip will get pushed into the back of the body and cause damage to it.

I don't know if anyone has done this already but figured I would share the way i did it. It seems to add rigidity to it and eliminates some of the flex. With the body if I lay the truck back on the wheelie bar by hand it doesn't cram into the body.

Here are some pictures....

Looks good !! I'm sort of glad mine doesn't wheelie, when i had the stock wheels it was bad with wheelies but then when i got my hotbodies it really balanced the truck out and it just feels more under control. Forsure looks good.

I use a Traxxas T-MAXX wheelie bar and fasten it to the truck with zip ties. I like the adjustabilty of it.

Its got these wheels .. the hot bodies revolution wheels .. to me the HPI savage looks retarded with out these wheels.. they fill out the truck sooooooo welll. and weight a total of 8 LBS hahaha so no wheelies just great control rarely ever rolling .. and just fun fun fun with these things... very rare how ever.

it womps with ease.. and those wheels and tires are perfect just perfect amount of grip.

I am running the stock wheels/tires with a Picco P3 .28....That picco has ALOT of power, its running rich still and it will pull a wheelie at any speed in first gear if you yank the throttle. I have the three speed tranny in it right now.

I like those, what kind of tires are they? I was thinking of going with the goliath combo.

The tires are also by hot bodies meyhem tires. They are awesome i think they actually use the same rubber used on real scale cars. It smells like it out of the packaging and the the compound of the tire is about as hard as a usual car tire.. Pretty cool.

Over all after i installed these wheels I've noticed the truck in general handles alot better. I can hit a turn at pretty good speeds and instead of rolling over the wheels allow me to sort of enter the turn drifting. When it jumps it seems to have a great balance and isnt to squirrely and isnt very out of control feeling when your full throttle it just feels like its more tamed if you will. And plus the wheels just look sooo good compared to the stock small wheels.

Makes me wonder what wheelie bar is on my savage X I just bought... All I do know is that it was installed wrong and after I took it off/reinstalled it, I can actually use the roto start properly now. I can't imaging smashing it hard enough to hit the body... Without it though, whenever a wheelie happens, the body grabs the grass like a mofo and buckles itself. THat's the only reason I put it back on. It was putting it back on that I realized whomever installed it put it on wrong.

Buying used is annoying sometimes...
