Yup

took the bb Axial revo out bashing yesterday evening in the neighbors yard.

they had just got a new septic system installed at the end of last year. it had rained and froze and then everything thawed out yesterday, him and the kids were out on the 4 wheelers tearing the yard up, so i thought i would help

didnt get to run for even 4 or 5 minutes before my truck started acting up.

finally it threw a couple of impressive sparks
melted the spur to the CB..
and made a mess.

the little tab you see laying there out front, not exactly circle, more oval then anything, green/blue in color..

yea.. that use to be an ofna blue clutch shoe..

the other 2 were mugen composite/carbon shoes.

I'm thinking the problem began in the clutchbell.
both bearings were seized. this may have happend because of the extreme heat though.

i've got an 18t CB I've got to totally clean up now.

You might want to check the engine bearings. (OMFG!!) That was one HOT engine!!

engine never got hot.. lol

not sure you guys know whats going on.

both cb bearings failed.
and its obvious one of my shoes failed.

I never had problems running HPI's teflon shoes in my revo... but then again, I wasn't geared that high.

If they were slipping enough to generate that much heat, I wonder if you were using too heavy of a clutch spring. So they were barely engaging or something?

Looks bad though!

I used to have this issue with my Picco .26 in my REVO........Defiantly time for metal or ceramic bearings and LOTS of play with proper shims....I smoked three or four MC2 clutches before I figured it out.

NICE CARNAGE!!!!
