I posted a speaker on ebay yesterday around 11am. Someone used the "Buy it Now" around 5pm yesterday. How long do you guys normally wait to make a payment?

This was my first ebay selling experience. I've bought a lot of things and when I use buy it now, I pay now.

I can't tell if someone is just screwing around or if this is normal.

99% of the time when I use ebay, it's usually buy it now, unless it's a really good deal.

When I do use buy it now, I make it a point to pay right away, or at least within a few hours. I always email the seller and tell them what my plans are either way.

I sell a lot of stuff on ebay.

75% of the people that use buy it now will pay right away. The rest usually pay within 3 to 4 days.

Send the person an invoice.

I've been buying/selling on eBay for years. Unless you specified immediate payment don't get worried for a day or 2. Lots of times I buy something just before going to bed and don't pay until the next night. As for selling, my experience is that the % is little higher than what robmob said.

I wish the % of those that post feedback was higher, I have a 400 + rating but thats only about 1 in 3-4 transactions.

Not every one is in front of their computer as much as we are. Give them 2 days then send another e-mail.

I fond that 20% of people dont leave feedback. As a seller, I never give till I get.

For some reason some people refuse to pay until a day pr two...I actually had buyers tell me this.

When I offer a BIN I check the "must pay immediately when using BIN" box. It's worded a little different but thats how it works. Even if they hit the BIN button the auction doesn't close until they make the payment.

I quite leaving feedback first regardless if I'm the seller or buyer unless it's a seller I have dealt with before.

Whenever I use buy it now, I pay it then. I've had people pay days after though. Best thing to do is to just send them a invoice. And if they dont pay in a couple days, send them a reminder. Then if theres no payment in 10 days, file a no paying bidder form. If they then dont pay, youll get a file value credit.

Yeah, if someone does a buy it now it's well, just rude to not pay immediately. But you never know, they might snag it up Wednesday because they're getting paid Friday.
