I know not many of you will be interested in this, but yesterday was a monumental day for Kansas City Chiefs fans. "King" Carl Peterson (CEO/VP/GM) of the Chiefs "resigned" yesterday after 20 years on the job. In 1988 he took over the reigns and promised to take KC to a Superbowl within 5 years............ it NEVER happened. I will give him credit for pumping life back into KC football, he's a heck of a business man and made a TON of money for the Hunt family. The Chiefs had the most wins in the 1990's of any football franchise in the NFL, hard to believe considering they never made it to the big show.
I think his biggest downfall was he tried so hard to make good on his promise of a SB appearance that he didn't allow for the correct building process and instead tried to slap a band-aid on each year and limp into the playoffs.
Like a local talk show host said, 'They may call it 'resigning', but he had a million hand prints on his back pushing him out the door'.
So pardon me while I do my 'happy dance' over here and the rest of you, continue on with your day.
