first time trying the true fire and i messed up on shaping the flames, and didnt use dark enough white.

also, when i was spraying the white it would come out fine, but then it would gather into what i can only call "strings of white paint" all over the place. any idea what would cause that?

Moisture can do that. doesn't look bad though. Find a way that works best for you rather than following a how to to the T. I was having trouble with my true flames when I was trying to copy Joe's style, but when I kind of forgot about it and tried it alittle different, I found my flames looking alot better for me. I stopped doing such perfect pronounced flame edges. I like to slide away from the edge with my stencil so it has a line but it kind of mists out at the ends...If that makes any sense?

Not to steal your thread, but heres what I mean.

When I was tryingn to do good lines it wasn't to my liking at all...

But when I really widened it up and did alot of free hand lines, I personally liked it way better. Although real flames can look SO MANY different ways thats theres no "right" way really in my opinion, just personal tastes I think.

We all have failures and lids that we just hate because we didn't like how they turned out. Just keep practicing and you'll get it down.

yea, my savage came out great, that one i made my own stencils with just a bunch of different curves and stuff. i tried at first to do it joes way and it didnt work to good, so i went back to my way. it would have came out alot better but i of course was rushing to get it done, and with the white not spraying well, i didn't get it dark enough. but oh well, lesson learned. new EDM body is comming soon, will post how those flames turn out :p

PS. i do have to say tho, my fail at flames still looks better than my crap spray bomb flames i did if you've seen those pics

well, other than alot of issues you can't see unless the light hits it just right, or you are within a foot of it this turned out really good!

has anyone ever had problems with pactra paint clumping and stringing? i had a bottle of black that was doing it tot he point where it was clumped and stringy comming out of the brush. none of my other paints do it. straight out of the container it does it. and does the same if i put it in an external cup.
