That's it folks. I'm not gonna have time for any serious racing, but I do wanna get in. Just need to know what's different between the 8ight t race roller and the RTR.....thanks.

race roller has aluminum shock caps, cnc machined aluminum, lightened shock towers, and maybe the race roller comes with smart diffs?

also a kit racers like because they can personalize what they want for the engine and some other things etc.

If your not looking for a race truggy you dont have to have the kit.. i would just get the rtr. because sometimes the rollers dont come with servos and the radio, receiver. and after market stuff could get pretty expensive.

id say race roller, rtrs are good for just entry level but before you know it, all of the electronics and engine will be upgraded. if you plan on getting into club racing, an rtr just won't do

That's where I'm stumped. The rtr comes with a dx3s radio, rx pack, and 2 servos....it also has the 454, which I could sell or use in my xxl.

If your not into serious racing the rtr would probably be a better choice.. like do you just plan on bashing it or just taking it to the track once and awhile to toy around ?

the kit, is for people who are planning to do serious racing... and can get very expensive if you got the kit route... a racer will spend alot on a kit in legit race parts and engines.. where as the rtr is most likely for just weekend track driver but not exactly for racing...

I mean dont get me wrong RTR and KIT are both race inspired vehicles.. but the RTR would actually end up saving you money off the start... i personally want a kit because i want to personalize my truggy when i get it..

Yeah me too....but I'll be getting the rtr, eventually. It even comes with a starter box, which is awesome.

Upgrade rtr

In My opinion, the only critical differences are the Chassis and shock towers. Those can be upgraded for about $100

Are the differentials different in the kits? I believe I heard something about the kits have harden diff gears gears?

Actually the RTR diffs are stronger, they're the HD diffs with metal inserts. But for most racers they are too heavy, and so are not used in the Race Rollers.
