Cut a hole in the side of the body.

I tried it, but didn't like it. I ended up putting in an 125cc OFNA buggy tank. Now my 21 maxx and my 18 maxx both run like a dream. No more foaming, no more leaning out. Just some creative mounting.

I have pics if you want, but I've posted them around here somwhere already.

first question is why. a smaller tank, i can see if u race but if u bash there is no point. like Olds said, go with the 125cc OFNA 1/8th scale buggy tank. remember who give directions on how to do it olds. :lick:

I remember. I didn't do it exactly the same, but I did/do appreciate the help.

Yours was one of about 10 that I looked at. I ended up doing my .18 maxx like your due to not having room to doing it like I did on my 21 maxx.

Well, first off, I do want to race and second reason is that article explains why that tank just works better as far as keeping the mix from getting too lean once the fuel level goes below the level of the carb.

I believe the leaning issue is more due to the shape of the stock tank.

If you want to go lighter, the rustler tank is what you want. If you want better tuning and a tank that's less likely to break, but the same capacity, go with the ofna buggy tank.

Ok, you have instructions for it anywhere?

Guess you're replacing since you cracked your tank at Cunningham Park. I agree with the other guys, go for a larger tank.

Yeah, even with the glue, I was leaking so much that I used up the entire tank in the 5 minute race against Team17. If it was a 6 minute race, I would have lost because it wasd empty when I brought it in. Even so, that only brought upon the need to replace. Doing some searching to see if there was a better tank, I found that article on traxxas.com and I wanted to know if anyone else had success with it. I'm not concerned with the weight at all, just the back pressure changing as the tank gets lower on fuel.

I started a new thread with lots of pics in it that says "Not 56k friendly" for all the modem users to show you what I have done to my 2 maxx's.

Take a look there and post comments or questions. I can take more pics tonight when I get home from work and post them if need be. Most of my pics for my 2.5 maxx chassis were just pics of the truck, nothing was really singled out like on the 21 maxx pics.

Take a look.
