I'm about ready for it. All the supplies and proper paints are here. Better still, I came up with the ultimate plan for your idea.
Hey Rolex I have an unpainted 5b body right now in the mail to you so you can "test" that idea first before you give it to the boss....lol

Woo hoo, love baby, I feel like the 60s and Woodstock again...lol. I have been going over and over in my head what I want to do with the paint. Seems like every time I get almost settled on an idea I change it up again. Hmmmm, I may end up with a clear shell since the Baja should be built in a couple days. I am still waiting on the battery though. So again dead in the water. The first body will be a basher anyway so it's all good. I need to invest in an airbrush eventually. They have pretty good ones here so I should pick one up before I leave Japan.

ok the moment you all have been waiting on!! here it is all mounted up!!! it looks killer!! thanks again candyman! I'm speechless!!

I can't believe how well it goes with the anno parts on the chassis.
That thing is EXTREMELY beautiful! Excellent work, Candyman. You've really outdone yourself.

Beason, please don't get it dirty. :hehe:

i want a body like that for my baja. how much to paint me one just like that less the grey & white on the back and pods. carbon front annodized orange the rest.

beason, I have to say that thing looks even more epically sick on the car. I'm stoked that the oranges match so well. That's exactly what I was shooting for. The thing just looks great!

yea man I'm stoked!! i know you did the gun metal and orange, "winging it" and it came out perfect!! i still can't believe it is so frikkin awesome!! feel free to use these pics to show off your artwork man. I put it up on HBF and already had some people interested, i hope you get some business out of it!

Yeah that does look super sweet Beason. Al least I can say mine will only ever see grass so it will never get very dirty.....I do have to say again....kick ass job.:first_place:

Damn, that would have me acting like Rolex, afraid to go out and run it! NICE work! Looks awesome

Thats amazing man. One of the best paint jobs I have ever seen

Let me know when your bored. I'll send a body your way.

hay candyman your paint job is 2 sweet. How do u do u that carbon fiber look? And I'm looking 4 a little inspiration to come up with a paint scheme for my beetle body no where I might find some?
The Carbon fiber look is really easy. You need to get some mesh toolbox liner. You cut it to fit the area you want to make look like carbon fiber. You then spray a dark charcoal paint over the mask. Wait for it to tack up and then remove the mask. Then paint a dark silver over the black. Once that is dry, paint a black coat over the back of the carbon pattern and you're done.

I've done this on several of my own lids and it works well. I've got to thank Candyman for these tips.:first_place:
