Okay, so i'm really hooked on getting a set of these things, but my question is how much more stress do they cause on the axles?

I've been into 1:1 crawling for years and going from say a 31 inch tire to a 35 inch tire will definitely start snapping axles unless you go chromo. same with these things?

:)

and so, one thing leads to another and before we know it, we have comp rigs hahaha! :D

thanks man.

Yeap its gonna make a difference. But so is adding weight to the front, which you will need to keep it planted. Servo should be on the "to do" list though for you. Nothing less than 333oz either imo.

Okay awesome. Simply drilling the 1/8 holes in the rims did wonders for the tires... I wonder why they don't come like that stock? Maybe for water, eh? I suppose it finds its way into them and nasties up the foam?

If you drive through water it does but you can just dry them....or not drive through water. Leapords dont come with foams by the way.

Yes you have to run foams. They dont come with foams because they dont want to waste their money on suplying foams since most compers run different foam setups from one guy to the next...

Okay, thanks. Sorry for all the n00b questions, but that's exactly what i am at this point. nitro and crawling are two very different worlds. :P

Thats what were here for so dont worry about it, just do me a favor and take/use advice given.

I know your question is about the stress that the larger tires will have on things and if you want to not worry about your drive lines any more get your self a set of MIP CVD Spline drive shafts, http://www.tcscrawlers.com/MIP-CVD-Spline-Axial-Scorpion-09136-p-18175.html I have been running them in my comp rig for 2 years with out any problems, I run a 35 turn motor on a 3 cell 11.1v lipo battery. In my experience the area with the biggest failure rate will be in the axles going to the front wheels once you beef up the drive shafts, or the stock tranny out puts. But all in all the benefits of the larger tires are worth it.

okay, one more question about the 5.5s:

I found the Panther Cougars with 1. memory foam and 2. SOFT foam. which would you guys go with? the soft foam costs more so i'm assuming it has benefits. :D

Cougars are not a tall tire. They are good but not tall. The panther leapords are the tall ones from Panther. Id still suggest going with Hot Body Rovers (white) or Sedona's though. Or Losi Bossclaws.

But to answer your question, I use panthers soft foam alot, they are panther F400 foams, non memory. They work awesome, tune easy and are not tempature sensitive.

Ooooh... dang thanks. I gotta do more tire research here. They looked tall in the photo. :D

Thanks for the info! So all the tires you listed are a bit taller than the stock Scorpion ones right?

The ones you have are Hammers. And yes, Proline Chisels, HB Rovers (white, blue), Sedona's, Rover EX (pink), Panther Leapards, Losi bossclaws are all alot taller and all better tires BUT the Rovers in white compound are the best, then the bossclaws and sedona's are right there at just as good or almost as good. I've switched back and forth alot between tires and always end up going back to rovers. Bossclaws hook up best though on everything I've ever ran but they arent as good as rovers for stuff that needs wheel speed, but yours isnt fast so it wouldnt be noticeable for you...Actaully the bossclaws come with great foams too, I've been running some of their foams in the back on my rig for a long time and love em, just a little softer than f400's.

Leapards are real good with the right foams but they wont last as long as rovers, sedonas or bossclaws.
I killed these in a couple months.
