Ok, I'm going to be able put a little more money into an engine. And will probably be deciding between a 421B, a P5, or a WS7 II.

Have any of you guys tried (or know anyone with) the Nova Rossi Rex 421B engine? How did you like it? Is it faster than a P5 or WS7 II? Is it a better choice than either one of those?

Thanks!

-Chris

well i have the ws711 in my pcr and it flys. iam very happy with it.i broke it in 1 month ago and after that i haven't had to tune one thing on it..hell i still have the same glow plug in it that i broke it in with..ryhton has one to and the same thing.pretty much set it and forget it....so imo its a great mill...

I'm not a ws711 owner but I do have an RB in my Storm and when I go to the races, all I see are ws711's. Once I've outgrown my CE the ws711 is going to be my next mill. Most of the guys that run this engine also have to use carb restrictors as it has way too much power.

I'd have to know more of your preference , car or application, racing or no? It looks like you're up in Chino, by Paradise?
I've had experience with the stock and modded versions of most of those motors, P-5's, 421b's, WS7II's<--non-modded-they don't need it, sure I can give you prefs, but they're my own and for specific applications or tracks..
can you give me more info on what car/track/prefs you personally have? I might be able to steer you torwards a little info..
If you're looking for a WS7II I happen to have a new one here, that's up for grabs, just ask Christian *grin*..

Hi Hirez,

I live in Chino about a mile and a half from Revelation Race Way (which is in Montclair). I think I'm pretty close to Paradise because I've heard the name thrown around, but I don't know where it is.

I ended up buying the 421B motor. I hope it's what you would have suggested for my local track. :)

How much are you selling the motor for? I should/would have bought it from you had I not bought the 421B already because then I could have commissioned you to paint a buggy body for me too! Maybe I'll still do that too. How much do you charge for doing buggy bodies? Also, are you ever in So Cal? Maybe we could meet up at Paradise or Rev Race someday. :)

SOrry had that backwards, it was Chico, ca ,, up north not south ,, DOH!!! , yeps so far I'm running the same motor, except it's a hand mod..... it works quite well, its a more linear powerband, whereas the WS and C from Rb are rippers in their powerbands. These are a very very smooth motor, I still run the factory settings, I had it leaned out one day and it hit SOOOOOO hard all the way through the band it was rediculious, I'm at the 6mm restrictor now with the same factory settings, not even leaned, it still comes on strong from start to high-end, but at a very predictable rate. not on-off, on-off..

I want to come down for the dirt in June, I was into coming down this past weekend but after looking at a 8-9 hour drive, I thought it might be a little much for a club race.. *grin* This weekend is either Paradise's 2 day race(sat-sun), or Antioch (sat)and Colma(sun) , depending if I have to pick my girl up from the airport on sunday.

For the WS7II that's here now, its 270.00+ 5 for shipping..
Buggy'z Bods, paint & body =75.00...
If you want both, it'd be 345.00 + 10 for priority shipping.

keep us updated on how the 421B goes. I believe its an 8+2+3 port with 14mm crank, and 16.26/16.80 bore/stroke, so on paper it's reaching into (or rather well into) C5 grounds than a normal buggy motor.

I'm curious as to how it actually goes.
The one guy I talked to who had tried one said it was similar to the P5 but that didn't sound right...
