I recently bought a used 3.3 Revo and I had it running and drove it around before I left to go back to college. After a week I bought new fuel (33%) and now I can't get it to start. All I had for fuel back home was 20% and it turned the glow plug black on the bottom but it was still wet and the coil isn't deformed. The guy I bought it from ran 33% nitro. Also I live in Wisconsin and it's 20 degrees here. Could the cold have a big factor in not starting? Also I changed the plug to a med-cold McCoy

Pre heat the engine with a hair dryer. Metal contracts in the cold. Heating it up will make it turn over much easier. Higher nitro% normally calls for a richer tune. This probably explains the plug condition. Sounds like it was running rich. Running in the cold will cause the engine to wear quite a bit faster.

I'll have to try that next time I want to run it. It does crank over hard with the ez start until it gets warmer then it has no problem.

Right. Another trick is to use a seperate ignitor to heat the plug. The ez start is notorious for not putting enough juice to the plug. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah I'll definitely will try that next time, I'll let you know if I can get it going next time i try running it. Would you recommend taking apart the engine and cleaning it? Before I ran it, it wasn't run since April.

i have gotten the ez-starter to put out more power by putting 12 volts to it from a street truck. i have used two 7.2 volt batts buy wringing two in series. but warning i havent tested it long, i have only ran i for 60 sec,

But does putting more volts to the ez start damage the electric motor or glow plug?

i used to have the same problem u are having, turn out its just a weak glow plug ignitor, its unbelieveable how much battery that little glow plug uses. if u can get it to start once, that means the engine is good, i will reconmended a REDCAT RACING NITRO STARTER KIT, u can get that from Amazon for 24$, it comes with pretty much everything u need, and ye a rechargeable ignitor.

i compared my glow plug with stock one and the rechargeable one i got from the REDCAR RACING NITRO STARTER KIT, the difference is unbelieveable.

gl =)
