hay there. my 3.3 died in my revo and i wanna put a .28 in. will i have to change the transmission?

no you will not to change the tranny. BUT the drive train will not hold up to a .29. my v-spec that i had in my revo for a short time destroyed 3 transmissions. just warning you to let you know.

For my Revo I bought the Sirio .27 kit on ebay for $175 complete.I also got 1 for my T Maxx too for $155..Both kits came with the manifold and the mount needed to install the engines and I was still able to still utilize my ez-starts too....The engine now sits slightly diagonal compared to the 3.3 on the Revo....So far I'm going on almost two gallons of fuel through both the engines and the Revo transmission has been holding fine.I killed the T Maxx trans 1 time tightening the slipper clutch too much...In the Revo the slipper clutch, clutches, clutch bell, bell bearings along with center and axleshafts are another story though and I suggest getting the Hardened clutch bell, hardened spur gear , upgraded bearings and slipper, Traxxas CVD kit or the RL Logics to keep from having to replace them as often..

So its probably not a good idea for someone with limited money? Lol. I was hoping to not have to upgrade too much. i heard bigger engines usually tend do damage to something if the truck isnt designed for it though. what would compare with a trx 3.3 that might be more reliable. mine only lasted... today will be a year a week and six days. with not a whole lot of run time.

Picco .26 is a good upgrade

you need to figure out how many gallons you got through it. if you got 2 to 3 gallons then i would say do the erp that traxxas offers and put another 3.3 back in. alot of how long a engine last depends on how it was broke in and maintained. my race engines i get about 3 gallons then swap them. but in my t-maxx i got a little over 12 gallons before i sent the piston and sleeve off for squeezing. depending on your ability to tune and knowledge will depend on how long and how much you can get from a engine.
