just bought one of these and would like any feedback on it.. if anyone has had one, has one, or knows any info on them can u please let me in on some of the good and bad of it? i have had a few savage 25's, savage xl's and savage flux.. but never the new one.. i heard there has been some changes but not many.. thanks

I have it got it for Christmas ran it about 10 or so times now and it is nice... Obviously extremely durable and the big bore shocks r decent handling. Only bad thing about it is the servos suck so replace those before anything. Also the engine is extremely easy to tune and idles and runs very smooth

thanks for the info.. i was watching some videos onm them and i agree on the running smoothly and idling nice.. i think it will be a good truck.. how is the power? does it have alot of power so far? does the tune stay the same?

Tune is pretty consistent and ya its got plenty of power only thing I don't like about the truck is the servos those are the first thing u wana replace they are garabage. Other than that it is the best nitro I've ever owned especiallyyy durability wise

The only changes made to the new savage are the orange anodized aluminum, grey anodized cooling head, big bore shocks and GT-3 body.

And the bp diffs I'm pretty sure. Diffs are a sore thing for my old savages i dreaded that in my other savys and thats what i was afraid of with this one but i hope they are pretty strong

Now I wish I had taken a picture of my front diff. Stripped 2 teeth off the pinion. After they were shimmed I haven't had any problems since.

gotta take snaps of that, but I've seen broken spiders out of Flux HP diff too, & I even seen a broken Flux BP pinion. it happens.

i had a savage flux at one time.. had it for about month.. that thing was fun, i used to be able to do 4s backflips back to back and sometimes it would land hard and i never stripped a diff. but i didnt have it that long.. i wish i woulda kept that..

what does the savage xss have that the savage x 4.6 doesn't? anyone know?

I gotta say i love this truck to death it was amazing pulling it out the box.

I did sort of a review on the truck and things it comes with. great great truck.

Also.. note ( theres this little bottle that in the manual says air filter oil but this truck doesn't come with air filter oil it comes with shock oil so just a heads up, i just wish they labeled it because literally its the same shape and look as the airfilter oil in the manual)

anyways.. heres 3 videos i made.

and updated savage [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbbYovHC9BA"]Savage x 4.6 UPDATE - YouTube[/ame]

just wanna give a heads up on this truck, it does come with everything you need... but the glow plug igniter does not come with a charger... you have to have a charger in order to reuse it.

Also you need air filter oil

you DONT need thread lock. the 2011 models have thread lock on the motor mounts, on the back plate, and the starter plate. so everything is fine you dont have to worry about things becoming loosened up.

Good luck and have fun !!!

haha i seen those vids man haha.. watched them over and over like 4 times lol.. i love that truck,. your vids are the reason i got back into it lol.. thanks for the motivation lol..

no problem, well I'm glad i convinced another person to get a savage. happy driving !!

For the small amount of time it takes to check the above screws, I would check the screws just to be on the safe side. We all know these trucks are mass produced and sometimes built on a Friday or worse, a Monday morning.

yeah i made sure mine were tight i would recommend.

did u have any problems with you ur diffs? have u had to shim them?

Not had any issues with diff gear mesh, its actually doing just as good as bran new. I check it from time time and so far I've had no problems... I think all the issues that users are posting on here about the un thread lock screws .. and diff's need shimming are all from older savage model experiences. because when i got my truck out of the box everything was perfect ..

So far I'm a gallon in and still havent had one issue so well see how the second gallon treats the truck.
