Hi guy's got another one for you. If I was to switch from 20% nitro to 30% in my picco.26 what would I all have to do? I have got about 1 gallon of 20% through it now. Is 30% worth jacking around with or not? Thanks for your time.

power will be better, b ut not dramatically so, you will also experience sslightly lower temps. but as mentioned above, you will need to richen the engine considerably, as well as possibly shim the head. u will want to speak with the engine manufacturer regarding head shims. generally, if u are racing, 30% is the way to go, but just bashing, stay with 20

Most engines are designed to run @ a specific nitro content. I've run plenty of Picco .26's now and they work great with 20%.You'll often get a little if no increase in power with running a higher nitro% in general. The Picco is an aggresively ported race engine and it beneifits some from 30% but I'd only run it for racing like NA said. 20% works great for daily driving in that engine. That engine runs excellent with an oil content of 12%, you don't need to run a bashing oil with 16% or more in that engine.

Their seems to be a huge misunderstanding in this hobby in general that running a high nitro% will give you allot more power. That's not the case and it's always engine specific.

So to answer you question.....don't jack with 30% unless you plan on doing some serious racing and then look into head shiming like NA pointed out.

Peace

Thanks for the input guy's. I'll never know if I don't ask.
