2.5 traxxas racing engine blown?

how do i know if my motor is blown?
the piston head is black....
wont turn over
someone help...

Tear it apart and have a look see. Blown means something is broken internally like a piston, rod or bearing. Black piston indicates it was ran too lean/hot and most likely caused the damage.

when you say "wont turn over" do you mean the piston wont move when you spin the fly wheel or you can't spin the flywheel? How old is the engine?

its a nitro rustler 2.5
the whole car is barley a month old.
whn i ez start it it sounds like it wants to turn on but wont turn on.
the glow plug light wasn't lighting up so i changed the glow plug out and inside the hole it was black and oilyish. i changed the glow plug n light light up a lil bit. but still didnt turn over.

you may have broke the con rod. RB Mods has a con rod for the 3.3 that wont break. the 2.5 and 3.3 engine might use the same rod.

It's cheaper just to buy a new 2.5R off eBay. $104.99 free shipping. And yes the 2.5, 2.5r and the 3.3 all use the same rod. If you do the trade program thru traxxas you can send them your 2.5 and $115 plus $5 shipping and get a new 3.3
