2.4ghz radio question

Do 2.4ghz radio systems use crystals like am/fm systems? I have found a system for sale but the guy selling knows nothing about it. It was his son's and he is no longer around to ask questions and all I know about are am and fm systems.

2.4 GHz radios do not use crystals. You must bind the receiver of a given car with a particular transmitter. This will allow it to only work with that transmitter. Most after market 2.4 GHz transmitters (*like the Spektrum and Futaba FASST) have the ability to run multiple models.

Ok, he did say something about it having a bind cable and 2 receivers with it.

2 recievers and a bind plug, id say its a spektrum DX3S, i have the same one and i love it
